dollars,tohealfromincurableandfataldiseases,andtofindtheirsoulmates.

ButwhatistheLawofAttraction?Isitreallaw,liketheLawofGravity,orjustabunchof
NewAgemumbojumbo?

recommends.

Butitprobablydidn'twork!Ifyou'renotacompletelyhealthymillionairereadingthisebook
withyourlovinglifepartnerwhilesippingatropicaldrinkatavacationresort,thenclearlythere's
moretoitthanwhatyouweretold.

And,aftertryingreallyhardtochangeyourthinkingandmakingyourvisionboardandsaying
youraffirmations,youprobablysawafewperipheralchangesinyourlife,butnotthemajorshiftsyou

HowanMITtrainedEngineerBecameaHealer

Inthelate1990sIwentthroughareallyhorribleperiodinmylife,whereIbecamedisabledand
livedinterriblepain,doctorstoldmeIcouldneverrecover,andIlostmyjob,thecompanyIhad
foundedthatwassupposedtomakemerich,mylifelongbestfriend,andthewomanIwasinlove
with,allinaveryshortperiodoftime.ThiswasespeciallydevastatingbecauseIhadtheworldatmy
feetjustafewyearsbefore,whenIleftschool(IhadreceivedmyBachelor'sandMaster'sdegreein
computersciencefromMITandwasenrolledthePhDprogramthere)tomovetoCaliforniatoforman
Internetcompanyandmakemymillions.

Inresponsetothisdarknightofthesoul,oneofthethingsIdidwastogetintopositive
thinking,workingtheLawofAttractionthroughallthetraditionalexercises.Imadeavisionboard,
andputpowerwordsuponmywalls,andsaidmyaffirmationsandmantras,andmadeasupreme
efforttothinkpositivelyandhanginthereuntilmylifechanged.

Butitdidn't.Ikeptupwiththepositivethinkingthingprettyseriouslyforaboutsixmonths,but
duringthattimemylifejustkeptgettingworseandworse.AfterawhileIgotsofrustratedwithitall
thatItoredownmypowerwordsandvisionboardandburnedthem,anddescendedintonegativity,
despair,anddepressionforthenextseveralyears.DuringthistimeIwasexploringeveryformof
conventionalandalternativetreatmentpossibletotrytorecovermyhealthandgetmylifeback,but
nothingworked.

InFebruaryof2003Ihadasurgerythatwentterriblywrongandleftmecompletelydisabled
andunabletomovemyrightarmatall.Itwaslikethisforfourmonths,untilIfoundthiscrazy
soundingtechniquecalledThetaHealing.Thetheorywasprettysimple:thatashumansourmindis
dividedintotwoportions,whichwe'llcalltheconsciousmindandthesubconsciousmind.Theta

MostapplicationsoftheLawofAttractiondon'tworkbecausetheyareonlyinvolvingthe
consciousmind!

Ashumanbeings,ourmindscanbedividedintotwoportions:theconsciousmindandthe
subconsciousmind.

TheConsciousMind

Theconsciousmindisthepartofusthatweareallintimatelyfamiliarwith.Itisourthoughts,
thevoiceinourhead,andhowwethink;itisourmemories,orexperiences,andwhatwehavebeen
taught.

Physically,theconsciousmindislocatedinthefrontallobeofthebrain.Doctorsandscientists
havedeterminedconclusivelythatmanyofthesocalledhigherthoughtfunctions,suchaslogicand
reasoning,arelocatedinthefrontallobe.

TraditionalapplicationsoftheLawofAttractioninvolveonlytheconsciousmind.Sowhenyou

 Forexample,let'ssaythatyouarepoor,andyouwouldliketoberich.Soyouwatchsome
DVDsandreadsomebooksandgotosomeseminarsontheLawofAttraction.Youareseriousabout
makingmoney,soyoucreateyourvisionboard,andsayyouraffirmations,andhangyourpower
wordsonyourwalls,andfocusonpositivethoughtsaboutmoneyandwealth.Infact,youareso
dedicatedandsoseriousabouttheseexercisesthatyoumanagetoget100%ofyourconsciousmind
