Measuremen 1. Place students in five groups for this game

2. Tell students they will be playing a game where they will
estimate and measure different objects using CM
a. What does estimate mean?
3. Explain to students how the game will be played
a. Group: Every person will write down an estimate
and teacher will write on board. Students will
measure how long object actually is and write on
board. Student with closest guess will move on to
the lighting round (last round).
b. Audience: Must remain quiet while each group is
at the board. Write down estimate for each
object.
c. Lighting Round: Will consist of winners from
other groups, will be played the same as other
rounds
4. Ask students if they have any questions and understand
how the game will be played
Conclusion 1. Workbook, pgs. 187 & 188
a. Students will complete worksheets to see if they
understand how to measure objects using CM
and MM.
2. IXL
a. If students finish worksheets before end of class,
they can practice on IXL with CM and MM.
