Statement of Standard:1 Standard One: Learner Development
The teacher understands how learners grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning
and development vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional,
and physical areas, and designs and implements developmentally appropriate and challenging
learning experiences. (New Jersey Department of Education, 2014).
Name of Artifact: Personal Philosophy
Date of Artifact: Spring 2017
Course: EDUC 230
Rational Statement:
This artifact is my Personal Philosophy on Education and learning. Throughout my years
of being in school and knowledge Ive learned in past Education classes; I have come up with a
personally philosophy on learning. This artifact correlates to Standard 1 because it shows my
understanding of learning theories and patterns and how to recognize students growth of
knowledge.
I learned that each teacher had their own view and philosophy on education and student
learning. Not every teacher will think the same as you and I might not agree with how others
teach their students, but what is important is that each student understand what is being taught
and overall gets educated.
I would use this in my future class because this is the way I think. This is how I would
want my classroom to be set up, with this philosophy as the base.
