Pixar: For the Birds

Orientation:
Watch For the Birds by Pixar without telling the students anything about it.

Guided:
What is the story about?

Re-watch the clip and pause at certain point to ask comprehension questions.
Questions for comprehension:
Why are the little birds arguing with each other?
How do they behave towards the new bird?
Why dont they want the new bird in their group?
Why does the new bird insist on trying to fit in?
How does their opinion of the big bird get them in trouble?
Who gets the last laugh?

Introduce the concept of speech and thought bubbles.

Exploration:
A powerpoint presentation will be shown to the students with images of the film.
On whiteboards children are going to write what they think the birds might say or
think depending on the slide.
Discussion about each others thought and emotions.

Reflection:
Create the moral as a class and write it on the whiteboard.
