Genre Project- Rhetorical Decisions

Purpose:
The purpose of my genre project is to show people what dog fighting and

abuse is, who does it, why they do it and how to stop it. I intend for my

writing to show others not only what dog fighting and dog abuse is, but to

also tell the stories of the dogs rescued from these cruel and abusive

situations.
Audience:
The audience my project is aimed towards is people who care for animals,

dog lovers, and anyone else that is willing to listen. This is because the media

only shows certain aspects of dog fighting and abusive activities, however it

never tells the full story of what happens to these dogs after the owners have

been arrested.
Subject:
The ultimate subject of my project is not dog fighting and animal abuse as a

whole, but rather what happens to these dogs after being rescued. With this I

was able to use my personal experiences with dogs rescued from fighting and

abuse to tell the stories of what happens after all the trauma these dogs have

gone through.
Genre:
The genre I have chosen to best fit my topic is in the form of a prezi

presentation with pictures and stories of dogs from my personal experiences

while working at a veterinary office. These photos and stories help to show

the real-life experiences of dogs rescued from situations such as dog fighting,

abusive owner, and hit and run accidents where they are left to die.
