-program now based on MFC
-find replace implemented
-auto font switching implemented when toggling unicode/ascii mode
-send mail directly in text format from takhti (Outlook express
should be your default email client)
-post directly to usenet in text format using mail2news gateway
(Outlook express should be your default email client)
-ZWJ is now mapped to _ and ZWNJ to - to allow you to control
ligature formation (try the hindi word bhakti with these)
Files

hindi.map -> ascii to devanagri mapping
takhtiNT.exe -> hindi editor for NT4, Win2000, XP
takhti9X.exe -> hindi editor for WIn95/98/Me
takhti.ini -> ini file to set default fonts. Change this and
map file to use takhti for other scripts
Requirements:

IE 5 or above
Richedit 3.0 or above
Program will not continue without these system components
Operation:
=========
-program starts in Hindi mode - to toggle to ascci, use Cntrl Q .
-conjuncts ("half -characters") based on halant (x) .
to type the word hindi, type hinxdI .
-To send mail in hindi, send message encoding to
UTF-8. Then copy paste message from takhti to Outlook express.
This is now directly implemented within Takthi.
- receiving party must have a unicode compatible Devanagri font.
-you can save, print etc
-to see keyboard layout, Options->Show keyboard.
-to print keyboard, alt+printscreen, and past into microsoft paint etc and print
.
-ksha -> type kxQ
-gya -> type jxM
-shra -> type Sxr

Registration

There are no fees and registration. If you wish to pay in some way go to a
Hanuman ji temple and give some food and gifts to the poor. Or stationary
and other school supplies to poor kids.
If you use Hindi on the internet and computer ,use Unicode so that others
can read your text easily, and others do the same in a standard format. That's w
hat this
program was written for- to keep Hindi alive. That is more than good enough.
