The Swallowtail Festival - Autumnal Equinox (22nd/23rd of Rova)

Goals: - Introduce Ameiko, Tsuto, Lonjiku, Sherif

Progression: - Roleplay the day, start at speeches, events during


the day, lunch, then move to sunset

- At sunset run encounter

- Find out about grave robbery

- get ofer to stay at Rusty Dragon (Ameiko's Inn)

Roleplay the Day:


Speeches: - Mayor Deverin - Welcomes everyone

- Sherif - warns everyone to stay safe during the bonfire,


moment of silence for Father Tobyn, Nualia and the others who perishe
in previous fire

- Lonjiku Kaijitsu - Absent

- Cyrdak Drokkus - jokes and come see "The Harpy's Curse"


at the Snadpoint Theater

- Father Zantus - Opens the festival

Games: - Sack Race, opposed athletics and dexterity check (meet


Shayliss and Katrine Vinder, with shayliss trying to beat Katrine)

- Chess matches (challenged by Lonjiku, foreshadow


something dark in his eyes)

- Weight-lifting (Ven Vinder, Savah (armorer), and Larz


Rovanky (tanner))

Swallowtail release: - Noon bells

- release of butterflies

Lunch: - Meet Ameiko who pushes her dish on them (adv. on Con.
checks)

- Vote for the winner of the best lunch

After Lunch: - Speed to consecration if there is nothing left to do

- Perhaps the weightlifting competition if not done


already

- Perception check (fails) to see a goblin getting into


a rain bucket in the square

Run Consecration into the Encounter

Encounter:
- Perception DC 20 check to notice goblins getting into place, they
could then warn the town if they want to, gives no surprise round

- If fail run the text ouf of the pathfinder book and start encounter with
initiative

- If success, they can try to catch the first goblin that runs by

- Fight Inital Assault (note goblins attack environment, not focusing the
PCs), +1 from warchanters, 3 goblins

- 2 rounds of describing mayham, Perception DC 20 to notice the


wagon of fuel about to go up in flame,

- A couple rounds of fire torches incoming, until goblins smarten up and


fight on warchanters command
- Fight Goblin Pyros, 3 goblins, 2 warchanters

- If injured get free heal from Zantus

- If they stopped the burning wagon, heal to full regardless

- DC 15 sense motive to see the goblins have no real purpose except


for chaos

- Brief breather with description that town is setting up a defense now


and people have fled, less mayham, more serious raid

- Run die, dog, die: - Brought to Aldern by cries for help and dog
barking

- Gain surprise round as goblins distracted by Aldern

- goblin commando, goblin dog, warchanter, +3


goblins

Ending Evening: - Aldern exceptionally thankful, staying at


Rusty Dragon, focuses on female or highest damage dealer, will repay
them later

- Sherif also thankful, has heard of the PCs bravery


fighting in the center of town, word is spreading, Who are you?

- Informed of a pack of goblins leaving the cemetary

- Will investigate in the morning ("now is the time to


protect the living")

- Ameiko also arrives as things have settled and


ofers them a room at the Rusty Dragon for a week
