Reflection

Before beginning this course, I was very intimidated by the writing process. I avoided it

as much as possible. I would write short brief notes, rather than putting descriptive information

to not reflect bad writing habits to my intended audience. By doing this I neglected to express

information effectively to my audience and failed to learn to write effectively. After taking this

course and others that require to me to write papers, Ive become slightly more comfortable with

the process. Ive allowed myself to be more expressive while Im writing. While I still feel I have

much to learn, I have become more comfortable with the writing process.

I do believe that I was being too hard on myself and I also feel that while I may not have

great writing skills, theyre probably not as bad as Id assumed they were. I believe this is

because the more you practice the more comfortable you become with the process. I also feel

like the documents discussed and studied in English 1010 have helped give me better knowledge.

I did like the Blue-Collar Brilliance imp articular and learning about rhetorical analysis. This

document and lesson helped you learn about the meaning of documents and targeting a specific

audience for your paper for your information to be effective.

Unit threes assignment helped me to understand how writing would affect me

professionally. I gathered information for an annotated bibliography and learned about many

different areas and with many different people that I would need to be able to communicate to be

an effective teacher. As a parent, it also helps remind me of the communication I need to keep

with my childrens teachers.
