Remarkable Journey of Rizal in Dapitan

Jose Rizals exile in Dapitan living the essential acts. Rizal lives
like an ordinary people while he was there, his time was not wasted and
made a lot of contribution not only to the place but also to the people.

On July 17, 1892 the day when his exile began in Dapitan where
he suffered, harassed and threatened his life by the Spaniards yet he
strengthened his nationalism, love for his family, for the people of Dapitan.
He practiced medicine, pursued scientific studies. Continued his artistic and
literary works, widened his knowledge of languages, established a school for
boys, promoted community development projects, invented wooden machine
for making bricks, and engaged in farming and commerce. He was an
exemplary person to the youth because he builds school for theme.
Furthermore, he taught his students arnis, wrestling, boxing and swimming
without tuition fees. Rizal also gave medical assistance and free medicines to
the poor person which was a very sincere action. He also operated his
mothers right eye in Dapitan.

Despite his various activities, he kept an extensive

correspondence with his family, relatives, fellow reformists, and eminent
scientists and scholars of Europe. The film gave us,the viewers, a quick
glance of what life was like when our national hero was in a remote place
and how did he cope up not only with the lifestyle in Dapitan but with his
separation from his family. The film was able to depict how he used his
talents and intelligence to help the small community in Dapitan and impart
knowledge to young men. In addition, Rizal continued studying and he was
able to discover new things and have more friends. Even if the churches are
saying things against him, Rizal just gave the cold shoulder and tried to find
happiness in his life while hes in exile, his love for his family and especially
for his mother.

The movie, Rizal sa Dapitan was a very good movie because

it showcased how Rizal love the country. This is a movie for the Filipino and
must be treasured because of its nationalistic theme. No doubt, Rizals life
was very exciting and determined. It also illustrates how Filipinos at that time
show patriotism despite the injustice that they were experiencing from our
Spanish conquerors. Dr. Jose Rizal gives all of us inspiration in all the things
we do and he inspires us to be hardworking and diligent, which most of us
are not.
I am very amazed that even though Rizal was in exile, he
didnt mind the fact that he was sent to Dapitan to live like a prisoner and
yet he still manages to accomplish many things and help many people in
different aspects. Rizal is our hero, our inspiration, our lesson of the past that
we should be a man for our country.
