ACCOMPLISHMENT/NARRATIVE REPORT
Implementation of the National Learning Camp under Enhancement
and Consolidation Camp in Science Grade 7
July 24 – August 25, 2023

Introduction

The implementation of the National Learning Camp (NLC) under the

Enhancement Camp and Consolidation Camp in Science learning area has been an
instrumental step in achieving the commitment of the Department of Education (DepEd)
to the National Learning Recovery Program. This 3-week for Enhancement Camp and
5-week for Consolidation Camp learning sessions, conducted with 21 enthusiastic
students and led by 1 dedicated Science teacher, aimed to enhance learner outcomes,
and strengthen teacher’s competence, ultimately contributing to the overall
improvement of the education system.

Camp Structure and Participants

The National Learning Camp was conducted within the premises of Teniapan
National High School, providing an environment conducive to immersive learning.
Twenty-one students from diverse backgrounds volunteered to participate in this
transformative experience. These students were profiled based on their educational
needs and potential for growth. The camp’s leader is well-experienced teacher who
were carefully chosen for the expertise, dedication and passion for nurturing young
minds.

Camp Activities and Enrichment

Throughout the 3-week and 5-week programs, the National Learning Camp
employed a variety of innovative teaching methodologies to engage the students
effectively. The camp curriculum was thoughtfully designed to align with the National
Recovery Program’s goals, focusing on core subjects and essential skills in English,
Science and Mathematics. Students who serve as the participants were immersed in
interactive lessons, group discussions, collaborative projects, and hands-on activities,
ensuring a holistic learning experience.

character development. Beyond classroom sessions, students engaged in team-building
exercises, outdoor challenges, and creative workshops. These activities were carefully
integrated to enhance teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking
skills.

Achieving Goals

The NLC was a significant milestone in the DepEd’s commitment to educational

reform, as it successfully achieved its two primary objectives:

Improvement of Learner Outcomes: Through personalized attention, tailored

assessments, and targeted interventions, the NLC fostered a notable improvement in
the academic performance of the participating students. Regular progress assessments
allowed the teachers to identify areas of improvement and adjust the teaching strategies
accordingly. By the end of the camp, it was evident that students had gained a deeper
understanding of the subject matter, exhibited higher levels of confidence, and
displayed a newfound passion for learning. As a teacher, it is also evident that learners
are in progress as monitored during the assessment period.

Strengthening Teacher’s Competence: The camp leaders, as experienced and

trained educators, not only facilitated academic growth but also provided a valuable
opportunity for the teachers to collaborate, share insights, and refine their instructional
approaches. The
