Shigley's Mechanical Engineering Design, 9th Edition First Printing Corrections
The authors apologize for any inconvenience caused by errors in the first printing of the ninth
edition of Shigleys Mechanical Engineering Design. We had made every attempt to avoid these
problems. However, with a text of over 1000 pages and a solutions manual of over 760 pages
there were bound to be errors, typographical and otherwise. In this edition, there were over 600
new and revised problems. Many of the errors in Appendix B, Answers to Selected Problems,
were due to improper rounding and thus are only off by a small percentage. However small these
errors need to be corrected and reported.
