Skittles Project Part 2

By: Katelyn Opfar

Candy color is the variable that is qualitative because you cannot count
colors; and with that information the number of candies per bag is going to be the
quantitative data because it is a countable number. I know this because qualitative
data is something you cannot count (I think of this as quality which is not something
to count) and quantitative data is countable. (I think of this as quantity which can be
described as a number)

Frequencies of each color of Skittles are
listed below:
Green: 650
Orange: 633
Purple: 657
Red: 662
Yellow: 626
These colors were counted in the combined 54 bags of Skittles candy from our
class.

Lower Fence: 58-1.5(3)= 53.5
Upper Fence: 61+1.5(3)= 65.5
There are no outliers in the class data set; also meaning that my bag was not an
outlier.

It is appropriate to discuss the shape of distribution for this data. The shape of
distribution is bell shaped.
