Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?

The field experience included the preparation, implementation and assessment of a social studies
unit with a level 5 LoTI score. I learned how to effectively integrate technology into a variety of
activities that appealed to multi-modalities. The experience provided real world application of the
engaged learning skills learned through this course. To ensure higher order thinking at the
analysis, evaluation or creativity levels of Blooms Taxonomy, students used Office 365 and
Wikispace to collaborate. Technology supported cooperation by providing students with a way to
share information and feedback with group members and other groups. This experience provided
a valuable opportunity to apply concepts that I learned in this course.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
Technology leaders and coaches should gain knowledge of research based learner-centered
strategies in order to be able to assist teachers and students. The knowledge of engaged learning
was applied during this experience. Coaches can help by incorporating online learning and digital
content to support content standards.

The skill of effectively planning and managing the digital environment is needed. Educators also
must analyze their lesson to make appropriate uses of differentiation including content, readiness
and interest.

The outlook that learning can be collaborative, engaging and authentic is essential. An attitude of
digital equity for all students must be developed. Educators and technology coaches can work
together to facilitate safe, healthy and legal uses of technology.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?

Reflecting back on my field experience, I believe all aspects of the project helped me to grow
professionally. My students enjoyed the learning activities while meeting the learning standards. I
think my acquired knowledge of how to integrate technology to meet diverse student needs will
continue to make a positive impact on my students, school and staff.
