Executive Summary

Our team is called The No Shows. Our purpose was to come together and come up with a solution to
the problem for the Walker family, What would be the best solution for the Walker family's
transportation needs?.

Using the Deweys Reflective Thinking Sequence in our online and face-to-face meetings, we looked at
the characteristics of the problem, the stakeholders that would be involved and affect the Walker family,
the history on what they what they were doing to make ends meet but not solving the problem entirely,
policies and practices that would change the outcome to the solution.

The goal of the criteria is that it would help us to come up with multiple solutions that would work for
everyone in the Walker family and not just one person. These multiple solutions would then help lead us
to our final solution. We first took a step back and looked at the problem so that we could view the
problem from all aspects. We then gathered the criteria and came up with multiple solutions. As a team,
we scored the possible solutions. Low scores for those that did not meet the criteria and high scores that
did.

We proposed that the best solution for the Walker family is for Troy (one of the two kids) to get a job so
that Savannah and Troy can help pay for insurance. That way they can actually legally drive a car.
Beforehand, the parents could not afford to pay for the kids insurance because they were already paying
for their schooling. This way the kids are taking more responsibility and are paying for the insurance. The
Walker family has two cars. Savannah and Troy will share the one car and communicate their agenda
with each other. The parents will share the other car between their work schedule.
