Analysis:
1. Question #1 shows how as a teacher I provide my students with a safe learning
environment. I let my students know that it is okay to make mistakes. Mistakes only
mean that you are growing. My students agree with this statement.
2. My students agree that I summarize what we have learned in each lesson. I bring my
students in for my introduction where I go over the agenda for the day. In my closure I
will summarize what we did for the day, and what we will be doing the next day. I will
bring this technique into my future classroom.
3. Overall, my students agreed with this question. I ask a variety of questions throughout
each lesson. Sometimes I will ask questions before we start, in the middle, or at the end
of each lesson. These questions are to get students thinking, and learn about what skill
is being taught for the day.
4. Six of my students did not agree with this question. This was worded funky for physical
educators. Students do not have many paper assignment, and when they do they are
online in google classroom. Students never usually have the opportunity in my class to
finish their task early. If students do finish early, I will provide them with another task so
they have plenty of OTRs.
5. All of my students agree with this statement. Students are almost always working in
groups or with a partner throughout each lesson. Students are allowed to help their
peers if they see them struggling. Students we also provided with a peer assessment for
golf. With this assessment, student had the opportunity to critique their partner, and tell
them if they see anything that they need to work on, or if they see that they are doing
great at a skill.
6. Students are asked to help demonstrate multiple skills, or activities within my class. I
believe student demonstrations truly help students learn. It is a great visual for all
students.
7. Most of my students agreed the my class stays on task. However, 5 students did not
agree. I believe this is because in certain classes I do have a few students that tend to
get off task very easily. I usually redirect them to get on task. If they do not get on task,
or if it is a safety concern for my students, they do not participate for the day.
8. This question shows how I make quick adjustments when necessary. For example, when
playing lacrosse, I noticed students were scoring too easily because they could basically
walk the ball into the goal. I switched this by putting out boundaries where they could
shoot from. Some days I will verbally explain to my students what is going on for the day,
or I will use visuals and demonstrations. This all depends on my specific class.
9. Students believe that they can show their learning in many ways. Students are given
cognitive assignments as well as physical tasks that show me whether or not they have
learned in my class. By given students both of these tasks, I can see either through
paper that they understand what is being taught, especially if they are too shy in class. I
can also see physically through each activity I provide to my students each day.
10. This survey was given to 9th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Some students did not
agree with this question. Most of these students that disagrees were freshman.
Freshman are only allowed to participate in the unit that is being taught for all freshmen.
Juniors and seniors have three options to choose from. Not all freshmen like golf or
dance, but when they get to 11th and 12th grade they will have more options and
hopefully agree with this statement.
