United States is my country of origin that I know anything about. Its flag went through I
multitude of changes, yet it always contains there three components, stars, the colors red, white,
and blue, and stripes. According to USA Flag site the united states first and original flags origins
were said to be sewn by a woman named Betsy Ross in 1776, but designed by New Jersey
congressmen Francis Hopkinson (USA Flag). Although no one knows whether Ross was the first
to create the flag she has become a symbolic figure of the flag and for our nation. The earliest
true facts about the American flag was the first flag act of June 14th, 1777 which is the first
solution to our flag creation (US History). During that time the flag has only thirteen alternating
red and white stripes with thirteen white stars representing the first thirteen original states or in
that time colonies (USA Flag). After this many of the American flags were given the nickname
Old Glory (in remembrance of 10x17 foot flag) because of the changes being made every few
years. An article from PBS describes that between the years 1777 and 1960 the flag passed
through many stages of changes and design (PBS). Today the American Flag represent 50 star
lying in a blue background symbolizes all fifty states, 13 red and white, alternating stripes which
make up the thirteen originally colonies and its colors stand for hardiness and valor; purity and
innocence; vigilance, perseverance and justice. The United States anthem is the Star-Spangled
banner written to remember how American declared war on Britain and Britain failed to defeat

one our forts (History.com). An to this day it song due to our freedom and the way we value it.
Finally, if you wanted to become a U.S citizen there are two ways, born into the united states or
prove yourself as a good American citizen, especially for those coming into America.
