LENTIL SOUP WITH SMOKED FISH

Ingredients
- 2 cups of water
- 2 pounds (1 kg.) Of chimbilaco, smoked
- 3/4 pounds (375 grams) of lentils, soaked from the day before in
10 cups of water
- 1 Green banana, peeled and chopped with the nail
- 1 pound (500 gr.) Of potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 Head onion, chopped
- 2 stems of long onion, chopped
- 2 ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1 Pepperoni, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt, cumin and pepper to taste

Procedure
The fish is cut and left in hot water for 20 minutes until softened.
The thorns and skin are removed and crumbled.
Lentils are cooked (in the same water as they have been soaked)
for 1 hour. Then the fish, the banana, the potatoes, the onions, the
garlic, the tomato, the paprika and the species are added; Let it
cook over medium heat until everything is tender, about 45
minutes. Served with white rice.
