To Whom it may concern- 3/9/17

It is my privilege to both talk about and have had as a student Maria Carreno both as an underclassman
and now a Senior class student working to graduate this June. It has been wonderful to see her grow
for the last three years: When I had her as a freshman, Maria was in a very challenging educational
environment that included many students that did not want to learn, but instead wanted to socialize.
Maria clearly set herself apart that year repeatedly by her actions in saying no to the students who
were off task and yes to doing her best and learning as much as she could. And as an added treat to
me, Maria has had the same attitude this year. Maria has had the maturity to both set goals and move
towards them: She has been clarifying her goals repeatedly in writing and rewriting them and Marias
long term goals include becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse in California with an Associate of Arts
degree, and eventually working towards an RN and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

For the many reasons shown above, I heartily endorse Maria Carreno in any entry level internship or
paid position that you have you in your organization. Her wonderful consistent ability to rise above her
classmates and set the bar as the top student in my class over the past few years has shown me that
she is striving towards adulthood and excellence. I believe that Marias desire to quietly lead by
following directions, learning, growing, trying new things, and making wise use of her time will be an
asset and very encouraging to you, your varied team members, and your constantly adapting structure.
