To get across the point that underwear is completely optional, I created a parody to

Leonard Cohens Hallelujah. Most of the older generation has set their mind on whether or

not they wear underwear, wash them after every single use, etc. However, most of todays teens

deal with the constant struggle of wishing it was acceptable to go commando. Because of the Comment [AK1]: This is not based on fact, only opinion. I
feel Im allowed to say this, however, because I somehow
find myself in conversations with many people about this
difference between the older and younger generations, this song is aimed towards todays youth topic. On average (in my findings), most people above forty

teaching their children to wear it. On the contrary, most

reach out to Millennials in particular in a way that most of them would be attracted, while also

teaching them the lesson that wearing undergarments is completely optional. If most of mine and

the surrounding generations are anything like me, I know that a brochure, poster, billboard,

commercial, etc. would prove not to prevail. However, when something comical is shared with a Deleted: show

Ultimately, my entire genretized product was to inform the listeners that underwear serves no

mandatory purpose. One argument for the necessity of panties is the fact that they protect your

paints from stains the most common being vaginal discharge and/or uterine shedding. Deleted: prevalent

However, most women wash their pants after one wear. With this being said, the use of Comment [AK2]: Out of every girl Ive spoken to about the
topic*
underwear to protect stains does nothing but add to the amount of laundry that needs to be done.

If the underwear is going to get stained and youre going to wash your pants already, theres no

point in washing an extra garment. To help prevent this in a menstrual sense, women can Comment [AK3]: This is most useful to those who dont

purchase larger-sized tampons. The amount of discharge a female produces in one day is not

enough to cause a hygienic problem, so that isnt a large problem. In my song, I wrote about the

use of underwear when using pads, but by replacing them with tampons, underwear loses its

function.

Overall, I believe the project fulfilled its purpose. My goal was to create a parody of a

song that people would not only be interested in listening to, but would have their full attention. I

wanted it to be funny while also serious and pulling at the topic of underwear being completely

optional. Theres no reason for anyone to be anxious about peers seeing patterns or lines under

clothing. If youre at all worried about what kind of underwear to wear, its best to just not wear

anything at all. Skipping out on the underwear is not a gross thing to do, and this song was

intended to show people that its totally normal. It definitely worked, especially out of my group

of friends. Theyve already started going commando multiple times a week.
