The students were given 4 ethical dilemmas to research before we debated them in class the next day. As a class we decided who was going to be for and against each topic to make it as even as we could. The students wrote this on their paper and then they used the laptops from our laptop cart to research the topic to find evidence that supported their argument. They were to have two pieces of supporting evidence for each topic. They were also told to write the website that they got their information from to cite their source. If they didnt finish their research in class they were to do it on their own before the next class.

This was a quiz I gave when we finished Chapter 4 about crimes. This was a formative way for me to assess if students grasped the content of this chapter and what I may need to go over again. I chose to do a short answer quiz because that is a better indicator of whether or not students have learned the content as opposed to memorizing answers or being able to narrow them down. This was a great tool to use and I did it frequently because it encouraged students to study as they learned instead of waiting until right before the unit exam.

This was something I did on Fridays every once in a while to allow my students to relate what we were learning in Business Law to the real world. Students found an article in the newspaper that day that related to the content we were learning in that unit. Then they had to write a paragraph summarizing the article and another paragraph that related the article to our content. Once everyone was done writing, the students would then share with the class what they wrote about.
