Edgewalkers, ancient interdimensional machines, have a plan for all of us...

The Edgewalkers The Euopi Regime

Seven ancient machines built for research and data collection, The Edgewalkers
walk on the edge between our dimension and the next. But they became
fraught with doubt and jealousy. Their bickering ended with one machine
casting the others into stasis, and the death of the seventh machine. The killer,
later known as Red Eye, has been searching for the shattered fragments of the
one they killed ever since. Those fragments found their way into six individuals,
who would be destined to use the fragments power against Red Eye.
The Euopi are the harsh masters of the galaxy. Their exceptional skills at
conniving, swindling, backstabbing and persuading, have enabled them to
build a massive empire that controls everything they can reach. Laws are strict,
culture is highly regulated, and no command can ever be refused. Some have
allied with them, believing the tall tales they spin of security and building a
better universe for everyone. But some see the Euopi Regime for what it is: a war
profiteering, corrupt, strangulatory oligarchy.

Boranth Civil War The Euopi Marshals

Before the war, the Boranth race struggled with an immense class difference
that had many times erupted into struggle. But it was always crushed by the
Boranth elite within days. As the rich began to close themselves off even further,
and as the slums became more and more miserable, tensions rose. The waters
finally broke during a routine mass execution: a young Tarantula watched his
brother randomly selected for death. Tarantula was to lead a seven-year civil war
that freed his people, but ultimately decimated worldwide infrastructure.
The Euopi Marshals are a group of soldiers under direct control of Euopi officials.
Marshals are organized into sqauds called Task Forces, usually led by at least one
Euopi official. The Marshals are the eyes, ears, and hands of the Euopi Regime,
always being sent on some new assignment to maintain the stranglehold of the
Regime. The Marshals are generally seen by the Euopi as expendable, simple
tools to be thrown at a problem whenever it gets too annoying. However, they
are known for the amount of authority they possess over the Regimes subjects.

The Bounty Hunters Union Thoxen-Teuthidian War

The Associated Bounty Hunters Union was known as a respectable
organization, where professionally trained killers could make a living gathering
bounties that anyone could set. Later on, Tarantula led a coup inside the
organization, wiping out those members that were there only for the
appearance of working for the Hunters, and taking the Commanders chair for
himself. Recognizing Tarantulas danger to the new world order, the Euopi
Regime bought out the Hunters, regulating their activities, and restricting their
bounties to those set by the Regime.
The Thoxen-Teuthidian War remains one of the most destructive wars in galactic
history to date. The Thoxen and Teuthidian races had long been at odds with
one another, sharing a mutual mistrust and hatred that had already resulted in
violence more than once. But the Euopi took advantage of this, and assisted in
the Thoxens acquisition of the Teuthidians homeworld, resulting in the eviction
of an entire planet of native people. This triggered the 16-year war, which
caused the destruction of most of the galaxys infrastructure, and provided a
convenient vacuum for the Euopi to step in and seize control of the galaxy.
