his exercise is meant to act as a review of the unit and a way to organize your knowledge prior to the test.

Activity 1 After five minutes, they will pair up with another student to continue finding keywords for 10 more minutes. 05:00- Powerpoint

Activity 2 During this phase, students pair up in groups of four; they must write down keywords on small slips of paper 15:00- Powerpoint
provided by the teacher and sort them into groups - possible groups are empire, government groups, culture and 30:00 Timer
society, religion...etc. Students who complete activity 2 sooner than expected may begin activity 3. Students must
complete activity 2 before proceeding to activity 3.
Activity 3 In this stage, students must create a mindmap on a sheet of paper or large cardboard. They will place Rome at the 30:00- Powerpoint
centre of the mind map, and then stick the keyword pieces (slips of paper) onto the mindmap using scotch tape or 45:00 Timer
glue. Keyword pieces should be grouped into appropriate regions. Students who begin activity 3 sooner than
expected may begin activity 4. Students must complete activity 3 before proceeding to activity 4.
Activity 4 Students must assess the legacy of Rome by comparing and contrasting ancient Rome and today. What has 45:00- Powerpoint
changed since Rome? What remains the same? Students will divide a sheet of paper into two columns - continuity 65:00 Timer
and change- and write down keywords or terms using their mindmap.
