learning.Shewasconscientiousincreatinglessonplansthatintegrated
acrossvarioussubjectareas.Oneexampleofthiswouldbeherabilityto
findcurricularconnectionsbetweenart,math,andsocialstudies.Amanda
developedawholeclassprojectthathadthestudentsbuilding,creatingand
designingacommunitywith2Dshapesand3Dobjects.Shewasableto
differentiatetheprocessandadaptforallstudentslearningneeds.This
projecthadthestudentscollaborating,communicatingandworking
togethertoreachacommongoal.

technology,text,visualsandconcretematerials.Shefoundvariousvideos,
songsandexamplesofrealworldconnectionsonthecomputertosupport
theconceptsshewasteaching.Theresourceswerealwaysengaging,
informativeandentertainingfortheearlyyearslearner.Amandawould
collectavarietyofbooksfromvariouslibrariestouseduringreadaloud
timeortouseasanactivatorbeforeshebeganalesson.Shewasableto
viewandborrowavarietyresourcesavailablefromtheDepartmentof
EducationLibrary.
Amandaunderstandstheuseofconcretematerialstosupporthandson
learning.Sheaccumulatedvariousmaterialsfromvariouslibraries,the
schoolscienceroomandclassroomtohaveavailablefordemonstratingor
forthestudentstoexploreandmanipulate.Thisfurtherenhancedstudent

materialspriortoinstruction.Shewasalwaysattheschoolearlyinorderto
setupforlessons,shewaswellplannedandcreatedanenvironmentfor
studentstotakerisksintheirlearning.

IthasbeenmypleasureworkingwithAmanda.Shedoeseverythingwith
passionandvigor.Shewillbetrulymissedbythestudents,staffandmyself.
Iwanttocommendheronherthoughtfulplanning,creativityandherability
toseeherselfasalearnereachday.Amandawillbeawonderfuladditionto
