9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of
those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony
they had held. 10 They cried out with a loud voice, How long, O
Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on
those who dwell on the earth? 11 Then a white robe was given to
each of them, and they were told to rest a little longer, until the
number of their fellow servants and brothers should be completed, who
would be killed as they were.
Revelation 6:9-11
When the fifth seal was opened, the vision that John had received from
the judgments that will come upon the earth is interrupted and returns
to focus on something peculiar in the sky: the souls of the martyrs. It is
those who have been killed because of their love for the Word of God
and for their testimony. The souls beneath the altar are the result of
the Antichrist's grip of terror from the first seal.
The martyrs who died before the opening of the first seal were
resurrected and united with those who were taken away. The Raptured
Church had its body glorified, while those souls under the altar are
waiting and have not yet been glorified. Therefore, these souls are
those who died during the Great Tribulation after the Rapture.
In that period, many of those left behind will be converted to the Lord
Jesus by finally recognizing the truth of the Scriptures.Probably, among
them, many loved ones of those who were raptured. But all will be
relentlessly persecuted and killed- living sacrifices Therefore the
reason why their souls are under the altar. Notice that their suffering
was so great that even after death they still cried with a loud voice for
justice ...
39 These all have obtained a good report through faith, but they did
not receive the promise. 40 For God provided something better for us,
so that with us they would be made perfect.
Hebrews 11:39-40
We are all a part of a great purpose of God, which we cannot see in its
entirety except through the eyes of faith. Therefore, those who do not
live by faith, they give themselves in to the anxieties of life and
become discouraged because of the delayed promises.
