Alkan Telecom is a private joint stock company, incorporated in Egypt
since 1999. Historically, the company existed since 1996 as a
telecommunications division of Alkan Company, which in 1999 merged

With the start of the year 1974, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Nosseir, a young Egyptian businessman, founded a group of

VSAT NETWORKS
Alkan Telecom remains a pioneer in the deployment of very small aperture terminal (VSAT) satellite networks in Egypt.

Telecom has been the leader in digital satellite networking. As the first company in Egypt to utilize single channel per
carrier (SCPC), demand assigned multiple Access (DAMA), demand assignment, packet switching, and mobile
communications technologies in satellite networking, Alkan Telecom has built an outstanding array of innovative
solutions and services. In recent times, Alkan Telecom has driven the very small aperture terminal (VSAT) industry from
what was a small demonstration network in 1996, to a leading technology for data, voice, and video

By providing Thuraya services, our aim is to fill the service gaps and network lapses that exist in the most populated
regions of the world and to provide reliable and seamless telecommunications that bridges the gap between satellite
