Conclusions survey

We shared our survey in a lot of Facebook groups of Russian exchange students. It was easy
to find such groups on Facebook. 70 respondents filled in our questionnaire.

Question 1: gender
On the first question we obtained a surprisingly
positive result: almost half of our respondents are
female. We didnt expect to have reached so many
female respondents.

Question 2: age
The reponses on the age question were also good.
70% of our respondents are between 18 and 40
years old, which suits our survey. 12 respondents
were older than 40, which is not our target, but we
can also use these responses.

Question 3: environment
We had hoped more of our respondents lived in a
urban rather than suburban or rural environment.
But this isnt strictly negative. Answers from
suburban people are also applicable to our survey
and answers from rural people can enlighten us
about the national awareness of alternative
energy.

Question 4: city
We can see that the majority of our respondents
are originating from Moscow or Saint-Petersburg,
which is our target group. But also cities like
Smolensk, Novgorod and Tsjerepovets belong to
north-western Russia.

Question 5: education
Responses for this question are very varied. We
dont have any comment on the diverse answers,
but we would like to clarify the 33% who have
indicated their highest form of education is high
school. The majority our are respondents are
students as you can see in question 7.
Question 6: profession
Again very diverse answers, which implies our
respondents are not clustered around
themselves, but have different jobs and activities.
Again, most of our respondents are still students.

Question 7: familiarity with renewable energy

Most of our respondents indicated 6 or
7 on the familiarity scale, together 45%
of answers. Other answers vary from 1
to 10. We can conclude Russians are
relatively familiar with renewable
energy.

Question 8: importance of renewable energy

The majority indicated 7, 8, 9 or 10 on
the importance scale, together 68% of
respondents. More than half finds
renewable energy important to very
important. This a good indication of
how important renewable energy is to
Russians.

Question 9: subsidies by government

More than half of respondent does not know if
renewable energy is subsidized by their local of
federal government. This a strong indication
about knowledge of subsidies by the government.

Question 10: opinion about government financed projects

Answers on this questions are clear. Almost 75%
of respondents indicated that there should be
more of such projects. Only 10% indicated that
no more of such projects should be financed.
Question 11: knowledge of renewable energy
The traditional types of renewable
energy are popular among answers,
but the energy harvesting tiles of
PaveGen can count on a little bit of
awareness. This is positive as PaveGen
products in not yet launched in
Russia.

Question 12: familiarity with energy harvesting tiles

More than three quarters of respondents are not
familiar with the energy harvesting tiles. But 21,4%
claims they are familiar with the tiles, which also
slightly positive.

Question 13: change of image

More than 70% of respondents indicate that the
image of the government would improve in a
positive way. Only 8,6% says the image would
decline. This a good sign for investment in
renewable energy.

Question 14: project developers

Almost 60% indicates that they dont know if
project developers spend money on renewable
energy.

Questions 15: comments

Only one useful comment: be aware of the current economic and political climate.
