For a secondary school teacher and a sheep shearer living in rural South Island, New Zealand, building a successful business might have seemed an impossible dream, yet just 32 months after joining they had reached the Diamond level and were able to retire from their traditional jobs and enjoy the freedom and options of a Diamond lifestyle. Being in their twenties meant a lot of time on the golf course, skiing, fishing and enjoying the freedom to organise their diaries free from bosses! “We were wowed with the picture of what a Diamond lifestyle could look like. Even though we had no experience in business, we had a huge amount of enthusiasm and a desire to chase our dreams.” The couple was introduced to the business by family members whom they trusted and were inspired by and they attribute much of their success to these amazing mentors. After 20 years in business together, it’s been an incredible relationship which they value and are grateful for. When the couple's children, Cameron and Fraser, came along, the business enabled Mike and Bridget to be full-time parents involved with their children’s education, sport, drama and other interests. They also love to travel and have taken months at a time to explore the world together.
