Condensed Hamlet
We have talked quite a bit in class about how long the play
Hamlet is. At times, it can be easy to even get lost in what is
going on because of the sheer length of some of the characters
speeches. Your task is to try and help alleviate this issue by
creating a condensed (shortened) version of the play.
You may do this in any format you wish: video, comic, podcast,
song, etc. but it must complete the following:
Must be in a group of at least 3. No more than 5!
Be a reasonable length (i.e. it shouldnt be extremely long as
the project is about making a short version)
Include all the important plot moments- summarise the main
plot and any subplots that are of importance
Show an understanding of the various plots going on
throughout the play, who the characters are/their role/their
relationships, and any other relevant story points
Have at least 6 quotes from the text itself which are chosen
for their relevancy to the plot or their relevancy for
understanding a character or their relevancy to a theme
from the play
o E.g. to be or not to be that is the question
A written justification for why you chose your quotes- i.e.
why are they relevant/important?
BE CREATIVE!
o Make sure you consider all the different ways you can
make your project creative in your medium. Dont
assume because you did a video that you will
automatically get a higher grade than someone who did
a poster/newspaper. Consider all the different elements
that are available in your chosen medium.

I will list some examples of clever ideas on D2L for inspiration
