This year I did service at the Glass Slipper Ball. This is a fund raiser for the Zonta

foundation and others, which help women in third world countries get education and live good

lives. The type of service that I did here was setting up tables and helping get ready for the event.

I also carried in boxes and helped the chefs set up their food tables, as well as bringing in some

of the gifts and prizes for the silent auction. The community benefitted from this service because

it was a chance for local people to do their part and to donate to a charity and help oppressed

women. I personally benefitted from this service because of who this foundation benefits and

knowing that I could be a part of something thats greater than myself. Something I really liked

about doing this service is how nice the people were and how genuinely committed they were. I

believe by doing this service it made me a better Catholic and a better person.
