Pronounced pulmonary aeration leading to small lung volumes


A finely granular appearance of pulmonary parenchyma
Air bronchogram extending peripherally
o most prominent in left lower lobe
infants in whom symptoms appear 6-8 hours after birth
o early radiographic findings may be
normal
subtly abnormal
