Auschwitz. History, A&E Television Networks, 2009, http://www.history.com/topics/world-

war-ii/auschwitz. Accessed 15 Mar. 2017.

This website on Auschwitz talks about how the Jewish people were treated and what they

did in Auschwitz. They first talk about what they did to people if they were not eligible to

work to the standards and how the SS soldiers would beat them. If they were not eligible

they would get sent to the gas chambers to be killed. The next topic thing they talk about

on the website is how Auschwitz was the largest death of the death camps. They said

Auschwitz used to be used as a detention center for Polish citizens who had been

arrested, until Germany annexed the country in 1939. The last thing that on that website

was life and death in Auschwitz. Doctors examined the people as they entered the camp

for gold teeth or if they were fit or unfit to work in the concentration camps. If they were

not fit the people would be sent to gas chamber to be killed. This website was very

reliable because the information was correct and easy to understand.

The Holocaust. History, A&E Television Networks, 2009,

http://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/the-holocaust. Accessed 16 Mar. 2017.

This article about the Holocaust first talked about the historical Anti-Semitism and

Hitlers rise to power. Per the article, Anti-Semitism in Europe did not begin with Adolf

Hitler. This article also talked about how the Nazi Revolution in Germany would be the

start of the Holocaust. It mentioned when the start of the war began in 1939-1940. The

Holocaust death camps started to go into action in 1941-1945 which ended up killing

over six million Jewish people. Hitler committed suicide and a week later Germany

surrendered in World War II on May 8, 1945. The final part of this article talked about the

aftermath and lasting impact of the Holocaust. The Germans struggled after the Holocaust

with psychological problems and how they were hated. History.com is a reliable source

that gives information about events in history. It was very helpful to use History.com to

Wiesel, Elie. Night. 1st ed., Hill and Wang, 2006, New York.

The book Night talks about the Holocaust and there were different occasions were the SS

soldiers were dehumanizing the Jewish people. The guards put the Jews in cattle cars to

go to the concentration camps and they would throw babies in the air to shoot them like

they were targets. Also, the guards threw food in the cattle cars to watch the Jews kill it

other over it. The final fact I found in Night was the SS soldiers took away their rights,

goods and they were treated like animals. Innocent people were killed and were dumped

into a mass grave to get rid of the bodies. Dehumanization is the process of depriving a

person or group of positive human qualities. The Jewish people were dehumanized

throughout the Holocaust in many ways. This book was reliable because the author

experienced the Holocaust, which he gave us vivid information about a tragedy that killed

over 6 million people.
