Kyndra Smith

Dear Ms. Kyndra Smith,

I am writing to apply for the position of Wrangler at your ranch.

Zach and Jenica Taylor, my aunt and uncle who live in Laie, and
Kenzie Volksen who formerly worked at Gunstock and whom I work
with currently at South Valley Large Animal Clinic, informed me of
this position and told me I would be a great fit. I believe I have all
the qualifications you are looking for. I appreciate your willingness
to read this and consider me for this position.

As the enclosed resume states, I have a lot of experience handling

and caring for animals of all sizes and have been doing so for
several years. I began riding by myself at the age of four. I have
trained and exercised horses and taught riding lessons for other
people for a few years. I have been able to work longhorn cattle for
several years down in Southern Utah. The days are long and the
work is tough; tracking cattle, herding them to pens, sorting,
branding, castrating, tagging and pushing them back to pasture or
often to their spring, summer or winter pastures. I have ridden
horses up to 72 miles in 3 days and my first one was in 2011, it has
been a lot of fun and very rewarding. I have also been fortunate
enough to have been working at South Valley Large Animal Clinic
for the last several months, While working there, I have learned so
many new skills, I have learned how to give medications both orally,
intravenously and intramuscularly, how to draw blood and run blood
tests, how to scrub joints, how to clean dress and prep most
wounds and preoperative surfaces and I know how to take
temperature and basic health tests for horses. While having all
these duties and responsibilities, I have learned responsibility, how
to manage my time better, be more open-minded and willing to
learn, how to be a better horsewoman, how to be positive and
manage stressful situations better and how to be punctual and how
to pay better attention to details and instructions and I am more
than willing to learn all that I can in this position.
Thank you again for your consideration for this position. If you have
any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at (801)
694-1320.

Respectfully Yours,

Emmalee Johnson
