Summary of the Event (at least 3 major points; each point will have its own paragraph)
A. On Thursday April 6, 2017 Elon Musk who is the CEO of Tesla plans to launch another
mission space with his self landing rocket. The launching will take place out of Cape
Canaveral Florida. This is the first time SpaceX will reuse a rocket that has already
B. SpaceX will save millions of dollars with the idea of using the same rocket in previous
launches for new upcoming launches. The rockets that have been used in the past usually
just burn up in the atmosphere after launch which waste millions of dollars. SES and
SpaceX disclosed to CNN money in August that SES will receive a discount of 62
million dollar sticker price of a launch reason being SpaceX is reusing a old rocket.
C. SpaceX planned to reuse a rocket last year. But the company had to postpone the original
date of the launch because of that rocket that spontaneously exploded at Cape Canaveral
back in September. Other privately own space venture companies are working on
re-landing a rocket, Blue Origin which is a company ran by Amazon. All of Amazon's
I think it is very interesting and fascinating that SpaceX is doing all this in such a
short amount of time. NASA should be ashamed that SpaceX has done so much with
there new rocket design that sets its own self down itself. It is really impressive what
SpaceX has done and I hope they will change the game of space travel.
Relate your Event to a Historical Event (compare and contrast with current event).
On July 21, 1969 NASA landed two man on the moon Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin
they made history that day. Just like SpaceX on April 6, 2017 SpaceX will make history
hopefully landing a rocket that has already been used in space by sending it back up and bring it
back down. Both of these events have and will change the pure idea of space travel and will
The difference between these two events are the Apollo landing was carried about NASA
which is part of the U.S government, while SpaceX is a privately owned company that carries
out its own space exploration missions. Also the obvious difference was one was a man guided
My events relates to the subtheme of Science and Technology. The reason my events
relates to the theme of Science and Technology is it covers space exploration and testing
of rockets that could lead to better space travel. What SpaceX (what my current event is
about) is doing is starting a new trend with these kind of rockets and making a big
How come NASA does not work with SpaceX to create amazing things?
How much does one SpaceX rocket cost.
