1. Describe the cartoon or graphic novel. What is the theme? The strip shows Joe Cobb,
the dad of the family in JumpStart, talking to a friend. The cartoon is about a family of 6, living in
Philadelphia and what happens in their crazy lives.

2. When was it published? It was published on February 2, 2013

3. Who is the cartoonist or author? Give a little biography (minimum of 3 specific things
about them) The cartoonist is Robb Armstrong. Robb Armstrong was born on March 4, 1962 in
West Philadelphia. He graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in fine arts. The
creator of Charlie Brown, Charles M. Schulz, is a hero of Robb Armstrong.

4. Why did you pick this cartoon? I can kind of relate to the cartoon. Some of the strips
reminded me of my family, and the jokes are similar to stuff my dad says.

5. How does the cartoonist incorporate the elements and principles? Theres quite a bit of
overlapping going on with the cups and Joe grabbing onto his friends jacket. Theres emphasis
on the words, SHE DID? because its bolder and bigger than the rest of the text.

who works at home and his family. In this certain strip he is welcoming a new neighbor with
mayo and discovers a new best friend.

2. When was it published? It was published May 1, 2015.

3. Who is the cartoonist or author? Give a little biography (minimum of 3 specific things
about them) Rob Harrell is the cartoonist. He currently lives in Austin, Texas. His work of
Adam@Home appears in more than 140 papers worldwide. In July of 2013, Robs first graphic
novel was published.

4. Why did you pick this cartoon? I picked it because it looked unusual, especially this strip. It
represents the different spectrum of cartoons/comics. Theres different types of humors and
ways to express yourself.

5. How does the cartoonist incorporate the elements and principles? Theres overlapping
with the bushes, the tray, and the box. Value is included on Adams nose, arms, and shirt.

1. Describe the cartoon or graphic novel. What is the theme? The cartoon is about a teenager
and his family. It follows Baldo and his life as a Latino teen boy. In this strip, Baldo, his dad, and
sister are sky gazing. When his dad points out a cloud, they all have different takes on it.

about them) The cartoonist is Carlos Castellanos.

4. Why did you pick this cartoon? I thought the strip was interesting. They all saw different
objects from the cloud. It represented where they were in their lives and what was important.
Baldos dad is more easy-going, Baldos sister wants an important job, and Waldo works at an
auto shop.

5. How does the cartoonist incorporate the elements and principles? The clouds look fluffy
with the use of texture. The characters seem 3D because of the shading underneath them.
