MOOC students over their outcomes between career benefits or educational
benefits based on their socioeconomic status and levels of education. The author
introduced reader by generalizing statement about the statistic of MOOC
students participations over the last 3 years and the percentage of people who
successfully completing the courses. Some of the students who managed
completing the course will have benefit on their career and some of them will
have a better education benefits. For the career benefit, there is tangible and
intangible. Tangible career benefit is about raise in salary, new career or business
start-up. Intangible career benefits are about job skill improvement or enhancing
ability to find new job. For the education benefits, there are tangible education
benefits such getting information in their field. While the intangible education
benefits are about gaining information on academic studies.

In the article the authors position is neutral on the results of who will get the
better benefits on both career and educational, between socioeconomic status
and level of educations. The author informed that in career benefit, are more
likely to be reported by people in developed countries. Also, author claimed that
the people who are more likely to have educational benefit mostly from
developing countries, lower socioeconomics and lower education level.

There are a few types of supporting detail that the author uses in bringing the
issue. Most of the author claims are from the statistics from the research and
information from research finding. In paragraph two, the author stated that 72%
of respondents who completed courses have the career benefits and 61%
reported educational benefits. In paragraph six, the report shown that the career
builders are more to achieve the tangible career benefits with 33% than the rest
of the career builders. Besides, in paragraph nine, the author reported that the
28% of all people who completed a MOOC is just to achieve an academic goal. In
between the education benefits, the intangible education benefits are 87% while
tangible education benefits are 18%. In the last paragraph, author stated that
MOOCs are the step to right direction in providing access to learning experience.

In this article the author fulfils the aspect of relevance, objectivity, completeness,
credibility and validity. The support directly related to the reports for example the
author sent a survey to 780,000 people, from 212 countries and territories, all of
whom had completed a Coursera MOOC. Most of the reports consist of fact and
clear evidence from Coursera course completers can be considered as valid and
credibility.

Based on the article, everyone can pursue their careers or further the studies
without requiring any high education background or high socioeconomic status
using MOOC platform. MOOC platform can be an alternative study platform for
everyone who wants to learn and further their studies.
