Objective of Dancing ball (Chen)

The purpose of Dancing ball is to practice electrostatistic into an practical experiment, while
also helping us to understand the concept of electrostatistic.
Materials (Kaya)

1. A4 Size box
2. Aluminum foil
3. Erasers
4. Clothes
5. Plastic Sheet
6. Color Papers
7. Foam Balls

Methods (Pim)
1. Prepare materials (A4 size box, aluminum foil, wood blocks, clothes, plasticsheet, colour
paper and foam balls)
2. Cover the styrofoam balls with the foil.
3. Put the aluminum foil into the box.
4. Put the wood blocks on the size of the aluminum foil.
5. Put the polycarbonate sheet on the top of the wood blocks.
6. Rub the cloth on the top surface of the polycarbonate sheet.
7. Put the styrofoam on the top of the polycarbonate sheet.
8. Try to use the finger to touch the styrofoam ball.
9. The styrofoam ball will move away from your finger.

Analysis (Sam) :
The base of this experiment is electrostatistic. Being more specific, it is the charge repel
within same charges. First procedure is rub the Polycarbonate sheet(PC sheet) with the cloth,
this procedure make the side after rubbed have more negative charge on that side. Second
procedure is put styrofoam ball wrapped with aluminium foil on the PC sheet. Due to more
electron on the side of PC sheet we put soccer balls on, negative charge of soccer balls
goes at the bottom of soccer balls, and protons goes on the top. Last procedure is use
rubbed hand to control the ball by put hand near the top of soccer balls, it is because rubbed
hand are positive charge, while top part of the ball is positive charge, this make each of them
repel one another.
