Strongly Feminist

A wrinkle in time reflected women right that include advocating social, political, legal,

and economic rights for women equal to those of men by Lengle. This book first published in

1963, it was same year feminist came out. As a main character of Meg takes care of the family

as a single mom, defeat evil, even found back her father in the end. Her brother is who good at

sports are minor character but he is not really helpful in story. Strongly Megs action like an

adult man. On the way she was going to salve her father that she met a boy who look like her

for her intellect. As a female main character, although Meg endured ridicule and bully from

classmates and unfair treatment from teachers but she still calm herself and deal with the

incident very well. In the climax of the story Meg become a super warrior for stop evil, she

faces dangerous situation it will take her life away heedless.

In the end of story Meg summons Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which Materialize,

because their friend is be dangerous but they can do nothing to save Charles Wallace. After a

long silence, Meg realizes their expect her go back to the Camazotz and rescue. During the

saving, Meg was can not go back to them, however she is the one who closet with Charles

therefore she get through him and rescue. Meg said please, if I have got to go I want to go and

get it over with. Each minute you put it off make it harder. Although her father and Calvin do

not want her do that but it is the only idea to rescue. Meg as a main character, she is brave and

determined girl. Every friends take care and cherish about her, they want to protect her and

Meg wants to protect her friends as well. Other way that she was good at make important

choices and analysis it clearly for team. Those heavy burden and missions fill on girls shoulder

but she still persistence and bear the pressure. Meg could payment for friends as much as she

has even her life, a ordinary girl does things with other girls differently, she could do things

that other boys do even do it better than other boys.

 Meg gave up on herself during she study in school, because of discrimination from

classmates and even teachers. she thought school was all wrong, she had been dropped down

to the lowest section in her grade. but her teacher still insult her which is her classmates are

kids of brilliant, how can she work such a poor. Teacher was already lost sufferance to her

moreover this situations may not happened once only. School education system and teachers

attitude were either affect Meg, originally her grade was not as good as other students but

teachers still not encourage her even abuse and threaten her, her musts be more autistic. And

on the way home from school, walking up the road with her arms full of books, her classmate

discriminate such a baby brother. Negative mood are ongoing to her mind, finally emotion

outbreaks, therefore, she had thrown the books on the side of the road and tackled him with

every ounce of strength she had, although she knew it she must lose but at least her negative

emotion was catharsis. One strong girl is more attractive than strong boy, Meg has a lot

characters that other girls and boys do not.

In the climax part of story that Meg found her father but their added mission was beat

evil, as we thought Meg was one only who can beat evil. Other characters were searching

warrior which is who serve the good and the light of the universe. Meg knew her fathers

trapped by an evil energy. The evil is too strong for other protecter so Meg became that only

who can stop it and be a warrior. In the story one beast the beast holding Meg questioned you

three are fighting? They have a light heart that help them to go forward way without any club

and fear. A girl was holding on a hand of beast, there have no screaming, tearing, and retiring.

Meg is only thinking about how her friends run away it represent she could lost her life to

protect people that surrounding her. Meg never thought she is a girl because she wants to find

her father, solve the world, she is the only who can keep light lighting.

The main characters are boys in many fantasy novels and movies therefore they could

beat and solve people, but Lengle choose a girl as a main character even she needs to dress up
armor and become the warrior. Her characters not lose to boys, even better than other boys.

The story of a wrinkle of time was talk about fantasy journey of a warrior solve her father but

on other way, the main character is really different with other character of fantasy character

because that is a girl so the deep meaning also represent feminist in the book. Author wants to

tell readers women can be warrior because they are human too people can not reject one person

by their gender. As we know men and women were strongly inequality in ancient even until

now some families and society are still gender inequality but by more and more strong women

and female leader rise up such as Hilary, Queen of England, and Empress Wu etc, therefore

men should be respectful.
