MATH1277 provides students with knowledge of calculus and linear algebra through lectures and exercises, developing problem solving and communication skills. Students will learn to identify issues in business situations, analyze them, and propose justified solutions, becoming critical thinkers and effective problem solvers. The document provides instructions for deferring an offer or program, including submitting forms before certain dates if a student wishes to defer accepting an offer, enrolling in courses, or taking program leave. It emphasizes understanding the university's rules on academic conduct.

MATH1277 will provide you with an in-depth knowledge of topics in Calculus and
Linear Algebra and show applications in interdisciplinary contexts through
lectures and exercises. The mathematical problem solving skills that you will develop are generic problem solving skills, based on logical arguments that can be applied in multidisciplinary work. You will develop your communication skills through active participation in tutorials, and by writing clear, logical arguments when solving problems. 2. Critical thinking and problem solving: Our graduates will be critical thinkers and effective problem solvers. You should be able to identify and research issues in business situations, analyse the issues, and propose appropriate and well- justified solutions. a) If you have received an offer but havent accepted, you can defer your program start date as part of the online acceptance process. b) If you have accepted your offer but have not enrolled in courses and wish to defer, you should submit an Admissions Enquiry Form so that our Admissions Office can process the request. c) If you have already enrolled in one or more courses and wish to defer, you can apply for Program Leave via your myUNSW account. This request must be submitted before the census date for your commencing semester.
