Religion 9-2
A) Theme: prayer for victims of typhoons
B) Reading: Psalm 28: 7-8
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him
The Lord is their strength
And He is a saving defense to His anointed.

C) Reflection: Typhoons are huge storms that hit the Philippines more than 20 times a year.
They bring in rain and floods that destroy the homes of many people. Typhoons affect
many people especially those who are poor because their homes arent strong enough and
some are too poor to rebuild their homes. Typhoon Haiyan was one of the worst typhoons
that occurred in Asia. It was a super typhoon and it was a category 5 hurricane, the
highest category. Many countries came to aid the Philippines. This event strengthened
many people in the Philippines because they put their trust in God and never stopped
believing. Their faith accompanied them in their troubles and strengthened them.

D) Prayer:
Dear God,
Help us put our strength in you and never doubt that you will always be there for us.
We turn to you and need you when times get dark.
Help us see a light in the darkest times when we get carried away and stop believing in you,
And may we always put our faith in you.
Lord God remind us that you are with us every day and everywhere we go
And help those see that there will be goodness in times of distress
Especially those who have lost a loved one
Give them peace and strengthen them
May you protect us a guide us and bring us together in times of pain and need
Stay with us and strengthen us
Give us comfort and peace with others and ourselves.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
