SNEAK PREVIEW

By far one of the most unique books

ever written on the sasquatch/bigfoot
issue. Dave Paulides, a former
police investigator, brings us the
results of his detailed bigfoot
witness interviews. He
commissioned a
professional police
forensic artist to
personally visit
witnesses and

sketches of
what the
witnesses
saw. The results
will astound you!
...And one further note—
the work will celebrate the
50th Anniversary of essentially
the birth of the name “Bigfoot.”
Some plans are in the mill in this
regard—please stay tuned.

ohn Green is the pre-eminent

J sasquatch/bigfoot researcher, authority on

the creature, and author. His interest in this
subject extends back to 1957. His extensive
research, which now exceeds over half a
century, has not been equaled, and likely never
will.
John lives with his wife, June, at Harrison
Hot Springs, British Columbia (about one hour
east of Vancouver). His home has many times
been the meeting place for sasquatch
researchers throughout the pacific northwest and beyond. He has his own
collection of sasquatch footprint casts and related artifacts which he shares
and discusses with visitors.
Before choosing Hancock House to publish his books, John had his own
publishing company (Cheam Publishing) and he published a number of titles
that became “the word” on sasquatch
for many years. His main and most
comprehensive work is, Sasquatch:
The Apes Among Us, which was
originally published in 1981 by
Hancock, and re-published in 2006.
This massive work of over 490 pages
is the most comprehensive non-
scientific work on the sasquatch that
has ever been written. All of the John’s home in Harrison.
main credible sasquatch-related
incidents up to about 1980 are fully covered. In addition, John dug into the
creature’s distance past and presents
historical material and old newspaper
accounts.
In his most recent book The Best of
Sasquatch/Bigfoot, John combined two
books he wrote since 1980 and updated the
work with the latest scientific
developments in the field of sasquatch
studies.
Both of these books are a “must” for any
reasonable understanding of the sasquatch
Left to Right: Bob Gimlin, or bigfoot issue.

r. Grover Krantz (d. 2002) was

Dthe first physical anthro-

pologist to fully support the
existence of sasquatch/bigfoot. He
dedicated a significant part of his life
to the issue, and by his own admission
was professionally rebuked for his
belief in the creature.
Although Dr. Krantz never saw a
sasquatch, he intently studied and
analyzed the physical evidence
(primarily plaster casts and the
Patterson/Gimlin film) and presented
highly professional reports on his findings. His first book on
the creature, BIG Foot-Prints, A Scientific Inquiry in the
Reality of Sasquatch was published in 1992. It was updated
and republished by Hancock House in 1999.
Dr. Krantz’s two major contributions to this field of study
were his construction of a Gigantopithecus skull, based on this
creature’s jaw bone, and the discovery of dermal ridges (like
finger prints) on some alleged footprint casts.
It has been reasoned that the Gigantopithecus, a very large
extinct primate that lived in Asia, may have migrated to North
America over the Bering Strait land bridge, and is today the
elusive sasquatch. Dr. Kratz’s book cover shows a model of
the “Giganto” created by William Munns.
Dr. Krantz’s book is a highly authoritative scientific work.
However, he goes far beyond facts and figures and provides the
full story of his research, along with his opinions and
“scientific” criticisms. He was a true scientists with a highly
inquiring mind. He lived in Pullman, Washington, and
instructed anthropology at Washington State University.
Although there was considerable controversy over his unusual
interest, the university itself tolerated his endeavors.
I met Dr. Krantz on two occasions—both at
sasquatch/bigfoot conferences in Vancouver, B.C. He was a
very kindly man with great patience, and was highly talented in
giving lectures.
Throughout his life, Dr. Krantz owned three Irish

he preserved their skeletons and
donated them to the Smithsonian Institution. Upon his own death, he had
directed that his body be used for scientific purposes, and that his own
skeleton be placed with those of his dogs at the Smithsonian. All skeletons
now rest in a large cabinet at the institution where they are used for
instructional purposes. Dr. Krantz had reasoned that by providing his
skeleton, he could continue teaching after he had died..

of Dr. Grover Krant’s Irish wolfhounds. The skull prominently
displayed at the lower left is that of Dr. Krantz.

first met Thomas Steenburg in the
I mid 1990s. However, it was not
until about 2003 that I got to know
him as a good friend. During the
previous year he had moved from
Alberta to British Columbia, mainly
to improve his chances of resolving
the sasquatch/bigfoot issue. There
are, of course, sasquatch in Alberta,
and Thomas was a very active
researcher in that province. However, there are about four
times the number of sasquatch-related incidents in B.C., so he
sort of “followed the trail.”
Thomas is the most dedicated
sasquatch research I know. He
works at a shingle manufacturing
operation in Mission B.C., and
lives on the premises. Basically,
he simply works in order to live,
and lives in order to look for the
sasquatch. Tom’s residence.
Thomas has military training, and is an avid outdoorsman.
He spends all of his free time scouring wilderness areas (of
which there is more than plenty in B.C.) in search of
sasquatch evidence. He is one of the few researchers who has
found sasquatch footprints first-hand.
He fist penned a book entitled The Sasquatch in Alberta
while he was in that province, and then went on to write the
books shown here, published by Hancock House. Both of
these books primarily provide highly detailed first-hand
interviews with sasquatch witnesses. However, Thomas
accepts nothing at face value, and is quick to point out
information or circumstances that he feels might cast some
doubts on the information he has been given. Indeed, he has
researched several local sasquatch incidents recently, and
proved beyond a doubt that the creature was not involved. He
is extremely skeptical, so you can bet that what he writes has
be thoroughly investigated and analyzed.
Thomas has been interviewed for many television
documentaries, and he worked with me on my book, Meet the
Sasquatch. He has a remarkable collection of books and other
literature on sasquatch/bigfoot, and is a major resource for
information on this subject.
