Request by SA: Saptarishis Astrology Magazine has only two parts of the 7 parts, which is of Mars &
Sun, if anyone has the remaining 5 planets or can point direction as to where to find it, the astrological
community would remain indebted. At the same time from the time this work of Rishi Agasthya was
written till now, several people would have saved this manuscript from destruction, it is finally after so
many years probably seeing light of the day in a partial manner hence each one of those light workers must
be bowed to, who formed the link in the chain. The translators & copy editors have done a splendid job, yet
we must not forget that commentary on a Rishis work is very difficult and that too commentary on a Nadi
can never be perfect and complete. This is a humble attempt to instigate the readers mind to probe deeper.
A lady without attitudinal problems translated this work for SA with great hard work but she does not
wish to be named, inspite of great insistence from us. We all must bow to her feet as bringing a Rishis
work out is one of the highest Punyas as here the translator/writer is promoting the Rishi and not herself.
Last but not the least we would like to thank Shri Mohan Srinivasan for developing a special software for
the Translators Team of SA, by which charts from manuscripts can be incorporated in the translations
and articles where full data is not given. This software is useful for all writers who use computers for
writing their articles, if someone wants it they can write to us.
Foreword:

E
swara nadi has been originally given by Eswara, Lord Shiva to his consort
Umadevi.

There are 7 chapters discussed in Eswara nadi for seven planets.

The current manuscript is the 3rd chapter dealing with planet Mars, the
signifactor of siblings and hence called as Kuja Khanda.

The result of Mars in 12 houses for Aries ascendant is discussed in this chapter with 5
verses for each house.

The narration begins with a prayer to Lord Ganesha and then Lord Kuja (Mars).

The prayer on Mars describes the planet as the signifactor of siblings who can grant
benefits of vehicles, land and wealth, happiness with spouse, good brothers and courage when
placed auspiciously in 3rd, 6th and 11th houses. He would grant wealth and grains in other
houses, if worshiped with fervor.

Aries Ascendant
Mars In The First House.
Mars and Ketu In The First House Aspected By Jupiter

Verse 1: When Mars, the significator of siblings is placed in his own house in the
ascendant along with Ketu, the Moksha karaka and aspected by Jupiter from the 7th,
with the house of siblings being occupied by Sun, Mercury and Venus, it is said that the
siblings of the native will face downfall.
Verse 1

(Note: Jupiter, a Marak for the 3rd house of siblings, happens to be the lord of losses for the
Aries ascendant. As 9th lord he benefits the native by its aspect on the lagna lord placed in the
lagna. But Jupiter as Viraya lord (12L of Losses) aspecting the 3rd house occupied by the 3rd
lord and the lords of the 3rd and the 12th from the 3rd house becomes detrimental to the
siblings.)

Verse 2: With Mars occupying Aries lagna along with Ketu and is aspected by Jupiter
from the 7th and if Saturn occupies the 6th from Mars in Shashtashtaka (6/8 position)
and casts its aspect on the 3rd house of siblings, then the native will have an elder sister
and a younger brother.
Verse 2

(Note: The 11th lord Saturn signifying Karma and Laabha occupying an even sign1 and casting
its aspect on the 3rd house which happens to be an odd sign gave rise to an elder female and a
younger male as siblings.)

Inheritance By The Widowed Eldest Sister

Verse 3: When Mars occupies the Aries lagna which happens to be its own house and is
joined with Venus, the lord of wealth and the 7th and is aspected by Saturn from the 11th
which happens to be its own house, the native gets 4 brothers and 3 sisters. The eldest
sister would become a widow upon which she would gain landed property and wealth.
Verse 3

1Even signs are female signs and odd signs are male signs, so Saturns aspect from an even sign has given First an Elder
(Saturn is 11L too) sister. The verse says elder sister and a younger brother. Saturn signifies older one, but being posited
in an even sign ( for our understanding - 11th lord in even sign) there is one elder sister. Its aspect on the odd sign which
happens to be the 3rd house signifying younger sibling indicates younger brother.
(Note: This verse indicates the inheritance of the husbands property by the widowed eldest
sister of the native. The 11th house signifies the elder sibling. Venus and Mars are the 9th and
10th lords (Dharma and Karma lords) from the 11th posited in the 3rd. Both Saturn and Mars
occupying their respective houses with Saturn casting its aspect on Mars has a bearing on the
eldest female sibling.)

Gains For Father But Loss Of Child.

Verse 4: When the ascendant is occupied by Mars, Venus and Sun and the 3rd house of
siblings by Rahu, the aspect of Jupiter from the 9th as lord of Bhagya(Luck or fortune)
and Viraya(Loss) causes death of the first child of the native in the womb. The native
has 2 elder brothers and one elder sister. The natives father would have gains at the time
of birth of the native.
Verse 4

(Note: The 5th lord is exalted in the lagna joining the lagna lord. Both Rahu and Viraya(Loss)
lord Jupiter cast their aspects on the 5th house and the 5th lord. This has a bearing on the eldest
child of the native. At the same time the 5th house happens to be the 9th from the 9th. For the
Aries native Jupiter occupying the 9th as 9th lord has benefited the natives father at the time of
2
birth of the native. )

Comments from Yenbeeyes: Translator has taken the aspect of Rahu to be on the 3rd and
11th house. Readers are requested to refer to Pulippani Jothidam 300 Sloka 10 which is given
below:

Sloka 10:

Meaning: For both Rahu and Ketu Aquarius is the ruling sign, the exaltation houses are
Scorpio and Cancer respectively and Taurus is the sign of debilitation, Leo is inimical. They
aspect 3rd and 11th houses.

Note: Even among non-Tamil authors, there are differences of opinion. I give them below:

karaka of children Jupiter is with loss/exit/denial/abortion/early death in womb - karaka Ketu, hence the first
child of the native dies in the womb. - SA

N.B: But generally Rahu is exalted in Taurus and debilitated in Scorpio. Ketu is exalted in
Scorpio and debilitated in Taurus.

Pulippani Rishi says that Rahu and Kethu aspect the 3rd and 11th houses.

Sage Parasara says they both aspect the 5th, 7th and 9th houses like Jupiter. This view is followed
mostly.

Long life and Wealth

Verse 5: When Mars becomes the lone occupant of Aries lagna and Mercury occupies the
3rd which happens to be its own house and Moon as the lord of comforts goes to the 3 rd
from the 3rd joined by Rahu, then the native will live long and be wealthy with landed
property.
Verse 5

(Note: This combination for longevity and wealth has 3 combinations (1) the 8th from the 8th is
occupied by the 3rd lord Mercury (2) the lord of comforts (sukha-sthan) occupying the 2nd from
the house of comforts along with Rahu and aspecting the 11th house of Laabha-gains and (3) a
fortified Mars as a lone occupant of lagna which happens to be its own house aspects the 4 th
and the 8th houses while the 8th becomes the 4th from the 4th lord and is owned by the fortified
Mars. )

Mars in the 2nd House.

Birth in Fathers Star.

Verse 6: When Mars is the lone occupant of the 2nd house for the Aries ascendant and is
aspected by Jupiter from the house of diseases and Saturn from the house of losses, the
native will be the only child. But he will have siblings from the other wife of his father.
The native will be born in the birth star of the father.
Verse 6

(Note: According to Bhavartha Ratnakara, mere combination of the 9th and 10th lords namely
Jupiter and Saturn for Aries Asc do not cause Rajayoga. The reason is traced to their lordship of
inauspicious houses namely 12th and 11th respectively. In the above combination, the Dharma-
karma lords occupy the inauspicious houses namely 6 th and 12th and aspect each other, besides
casting their aspect on the lagna lord occupying the 2 nd house, giving rise to the results as
stated in the verse.)

Unnatural Death For Native And Brother.

Verse 7: When the 2nd house is occupied by the signifactor of siblings namely Mars
joined by the signifactor of comforts namely Moon and the third lord who also happens
to own the house of diseases and the 3rd house is occupied by the 5th lord, then the native
will have 2 brothers and 5 sisters. The sisters will live long. But the native and his
brother will have unnatural death owing to dereliction of dharma or duty3.
Verse 7

(Note: For Aries ascendant Mars in conjunction with the 6th lord causes wounds and diseases.
This conjunction happening in the 2nd house causes fatality. The Raja yoga causing 4th and 5th
lords, namely, moon and the sun are in dwirdwadasa (2-12) position which happens to be
maarak houses from the ascendant and the Moon respectively. )

Inheritance of Maternal Property.

Verse 8: When Mars is the lone occupant of the 2nd house and the 3rd house is aspected by
the karma- laabha lord (10th and 11th Lords) Saturn from the house of debts,(6th house) then
it is said that, three out of four siblings of the native are females. The native will inherit
property from the maternal side.
Verse 8

3 This chart from ADB matches the combination exactly as given in the shloka except the addition of Venus in the 3H,
information about the individual is not much known but you can see that somewhere it matches with the result of dereliction of
dharma. Johnson, Mark Erick, 25th June 1949 Time: 02:14 CST (+6:00) Place: Des Moines, IA Lat: 41 N 36 Lng: 93 W 36.
American thief, given ten years prison sentence for burglary. He entered prison 2/16/1991.
(Note: The 8th house which happens to be the 5th from the house of mother receives the aspect
of 8th lord from the house of wealth and the aspect of laabha lord (11th lord) from the 6th house of
4
maternal uncle.

Many Siblings.

Verse 9: If Venus, the lord of wealth and the 7th house joins Mars in the 2nd along with
Ketu and if the 3rd lord is posited in the lagna - kendra, then it is said that the native will
have 2 males born before him and 7 males and 4 females born after him.
Verse 9

Third Lord In Debility.

4Also Saturn is lord of the 11H which is 8th from the 4H of mother, 8th signifies inheritance, hence maternal inheritance.
Another explanation would be that 4H is mother, Mars is karaka of property/land and this Mars alone is sitting in the
11th house of gains from mother in trine to the 11L of gains Saturn hence gain of property from maternal side. - SA
Verse 10: When Mars occupies the 2nd house along with the 2 preceptors namely Jupiter and
Venus and the debilitated 3rd lord becomes the lone occupant of the house of losses, then it is
said that the native is the 5th born. Among his elder siblings, one will be a male. One elder sister
5
will have walking disability . The father of the native will die in the dasa-antar dasa of the lagna
lord, Mars.

Verse 10

(Note: This combination has a bearing on the 9th house significance and the results pertaining
to the 3rd lord as well. Mars in the 2nd with the 7th lord Venus has maarak causing potential.
Both Venus and Mars happen to be the 6th and 12th lords from the 9th house of father. This
combination occurring in the 6th from the 9th with Mars aspecting the 9th renders maarak
potential to Mars affecting the father of the native in its own dasa- antar dasa. There is no
mention of a younger sibling to the native. The debilitated 3rd lord with no mention of
cancellation of the debility signifies this and also indicates walking disability for an elder sister.
Note the debility occurs in the 12th house of Pisces denoting feet.)

Mars In The 3rd House.

Sibling With A Deformity Of The Hand.

Verse 11: If Mars as the signifactor of siblings occupies the 3rd house of siblings and is
aspected by Moon from the 9th, then it is said that among the 10 siblings including the
native, one male and 4 females will survive. The youngest sister will have a deformity in
the hand.
Verse 11

5 Walking Disability to Elder Sister: Position of Saturn the 11L of elder siblings is not given. Jupiter is the 12L of legs for
11H of elder sister and it is with a female planet Venus, a female sign and Venus having general maraca potentials with
8L of chronic diseases Mars and Mars is also 3L of mobility from 11H of elder sibling, thus giving walking disability to
elder sibling. - SA
(Note: The signifactor of mother is related in this verse. Moon which also happens to be the
lord of house of mother for the Aries ascendant is in the 6 th from its own house and is aspected
by Mars from the 12th to the house of mother. Note this 12th position is the 8th from the house of
children for mother (Scorpio). The mother of the native suffered the loss of many of her children
while her youngest child suffered a deformity of the hand. Gemini is the signifactor for hands in
Kalapurusha. Martian connection to Gemini perhaps holds the key to this result.)

No Ancestral Property

Verse 12: When Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 3rd house and the 3rd lord
Mercury becomes exalted in its own house in the 6th conjoined with the 5th lord Sun, then
the native will have an elder brother and an elder sister. There is no ancestral property.
Verse 12

(Note: The prediction of absence of ancestral property is an interesting result of this

combination. The 2nd and the 4th from the 9th signify the wealth and possessions of the father. In
this combination there is dharma karmadhipathi Yoga of Sun and Mercury for the 9th house.
But these favourable indications of fortunes of the father do not ensure a transfer of his wealth
to the native. This can be explained by the aspect of the 2nd from the 9th house by Mars, who is
the lord of losses for the 9th house. The dharma karmadhipathi yoga of the father occurs in the
6th house of the native and is aspected by Mars, the 12th lord for the fathers house. From the
natives perspective, the 6th lord Mercury aspects the 4th from 9th along with Sun. It is inferred
from these that the fathers wealth was lost due to debts and this is interpreted as absence of
6
ancestral property for the native .)

Absence Of Siblings

Verse 13: When Mars occupies the 3rd house along with the 2nd and 7th lord Venus and is
aspected by Moon, the lord of house of happiness, the native will be the only child. He
will have a long life and would gain spiritual knowledge in the second half of his life. He
will receive retirement benefits (pension) till his end.
Verse 13

(Note: The mutual aspect of Mars and Moon is similar to verse 11 which showed many siblings
and a defect of organ for the youngest sibling. But the above verse predicts absence of siblings
when Venus joins Mars and aspects Moon.)

Comments from Yenbeeyes: Yes. The difference between Verse 11 and this verse is the
presence of Venus with Mars. Venus is the 12th Lord of Exit from the house of siblings (3H) as
well as karaka for siblings (Mars) as well as a maraca for Aries Asc. Moon is the Lord of 2nd
house of Maraka from 3rd H and Mars, and casts its aspect on Venus and Mars which might be
the reason for the absence of siblings.

One Elder Sister

Verse 14: If Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 3rd house and is not aspected by any
planet and if the native is born in the dasa of lagna lord Mars, it is said that the native

6Another explanation can be, Mars is the 8th lord of inheritance and it aspects from a bad house (3H) the planet Sun
who is karaka of father and placed in the 6H of losses & 11 th house of gains or losses from 8H of inheritance, also 4th of
property from Sun-father would be the 9H which is aspected by 8th lord Mars. - SA
has only one elder sister. There are no issues born after him. The native will gain
expertise in Telugu and make a living out of it.
Verse 14

Note: Mars signifies orderly formation and hence becomes Karak for Grammar. So it could
mean any language not just Telugu. Perhaps Mars sitting in 3rd (learning as 2nd to 2nd) and
aspecting the 9th (parental) and the 10th gives expertise in ones mother tongue and livelihood
through that.

One Younger Sister.

Verse 15: If Mars joins Ketu in the 3rd house or is aspected by it, the native will remain
the only child for 10 years7. After that a sister will be born.
Verse 15

7 Ketu shows delay or denial and here the Rishi says that another sibling will be denied for 10 years. How Rishi arrives

at 10 years is a mystery and any explanation given is only our logic and not the logic of the Rishi. From the house of
siblings, taking one year one house (BCP), the 10th year would be the 12th House. After the 12H comes the 1H whose
lord is Mars (siblings karaka) placed in the 3H of younger siblings in sign Gemini (one male one female) and is with
Ketu (karaka children in Jaimini and Lal Kitab), hence after the 10th year the result would be a younger sibling. SA.
(Note: Though the above 2 verses differ on only one count with Mars either being the sole
occupant of the 3rd or aspected / joined by Ketu, there is a rider in each of them. A strong Mars
aspecting the 6th house whose lord also happens to own the house where Mars is posited
destroys the birth of younger siblings if the native is born in Mars dasa. But whatever be the
dasa at the time of birth, if the nodes get associated with Mars, they mellow down the potency of
Mars in hampering the birth of younger ones. This is possible when Gemini becomes the 3 rd
house. Later in verse 17, the sage mentions Gemini as the sign of exaltation for Rahu. That means
it is the sign of debility for Ketu. Perhaps this helps in mellowing down Mars as Ketu is classified
as same as Mars (Kujavad Ketu).)

Mars In The 4th House.

Death of Siblings.

Verse 16: When the debilitated Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 4th house with no
planets aspecting it, the aspect to the house of siblings by the 4th lord gives rise to 8
brothers. There will be death of brothers in the antar-dasas of Mars, Mercury and Venus.
Verse 16

(Note: Mars and Moon have maarak potential for the 3rd house in this chart. The aspect of the
house of Venus by the debilitated Mars and the house of Mercury by Moon posited in the 6th
from its own house had caused the death of siblings in the antar dasas of Mars, Venus and
Mercury.)

Death At Young Age.

Verse 17: If the native is born in the dasa of the 4th lord while the debilitated Mars occupies8
the 4th and an exalted Rahu becomes the lone occupant of the 3rd house with no aspect
from any other planet, it is said that the native will die at young age. Three brothers will
not survive. There will be 4 sisters.
Verse 17

(Note: This verse shows a combination for Balarishta. When Rahu occupies the 3 rd (8th from
8th), Ketu the 9th and a debilitated Mars occupies the 4th ,with lagna and the 7th house receiving
aspects from these planets, birth happening in the dasa of the 4th lord Moon causes death at
young age. According to one school of thought Rahu gets exaltation in Gemini.)

Mars Saturn Opposition

Verse 18: If Mars joins the 3rd and 6th lord Mercury in the 4th and is aspected by the
Karma- laabha lord (10th and 11th lord) Saturn from his own house, the native will have 3
younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. One among the younger brothers who will be
given for adoption will not survive. Only 2 brothers will survive.
Verse 18

8 One of the Most important verse in this manuscript - SA

Verse 19: If the debilitated Mars conjoining Sun and Venus in the 4th is aspected by the
Ayush karaka, Saturn from the 10th, the 7 siblings of the native will live long. There are 2
brothers and the native will become wealthy from his 18th year onwards.
Verse 19

(Note: Debilitated Mars in the 4th house in opposition to Saturn has a unique balance of
strengths. There is cancellation of debility of Mars in the 4th and Mars as lagna lord situated in
the 4th and aspecting the 10th (its house if exaltation) and the 10th lord make these enemies
strong in their own accord. Verse 18 and 19 describe this position of Mars and Saturn in
mutual aspect but the results are varied due to the presence of other planets joining the aspect.
Death of a younger brother is indicated in the former verse whereas prosperity of the native is
indicated in the later verse.

In verse 18, Saturn as karma- laabha lord (10th-11th lord) in the 8th to the 3rd house and 7th to
the 3rd lord Mercury indicated the adoption of a younger brother who eventually died. But in
verse 19, Saturn as Ayush karaka occupying his own house in the 8 th to the 3rd house and
aspecting the 3rd lord from the 3rd ensured long life for the siblings.

Verse 19 says that the native will become wealthy from his 18th year onwards. Saturn will be in
Leo in transit when the native is in his 18th year. Leo is the 2nd house from the lagna lord Mars,
5th lord Sun and the 2nd and 11th lord Venus. The mutual aspect of the 5th lord (Sun) and the
10th lord (Saturn) in kendras has benefited the native from the time the 10th lord started
transiting the 5th house which is 2nd to the 5th lord. )
Family Feuds

Verse 20: When the debilitated Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 4th house
receiving no aspects and the 4th lord joins Rahu in the 3rd, it is said that the native has 2
brothers and 4 sisters. From the 5th year of the native, there will be family feuds created
by the brother of the native.
Verse 20

(Note: The inauspicious conjunction of Moon and Rahu happens in the 2nd to the 2nd house of
family. The signifactor for siblings is debilitated in the 4 th which also signifies home and family.
When the native is running his 5th year, Rahu will be transiting the 12th house from Lagna
which also happens to be the 9th from the lagna lord. Rahu who is the occupant of house of
siblings at the time of birth will be aspecting the 2 nd house of family and also the 6th house
owned by the third lord. This is related to the family feuds caused by the sibling.)

Mars In The 5th House.

Step Brothers.

Verse 21: The native will be the first born if Mars joins the 2 nd and 7th lord Venus in the
5th and the 4th lord occupies the 3rd house of siblings. But there will be 2 males and one
female from the younger wife of the father. Of them one male will live long.
Verse 21
(Note: The verse indicates 2 wives for the natives father. Moon in the 3rd which happens to be
the 12th from the house of mother shows that the native will be groomed by another mother.
This happens to be the 7th for the house of father while the 11th lord from the house of father
occupies the 9th showing a second marriage to father. )

Twin Birth.

Verse 22: If the birth occurs in the dasa of the lagna lord Mars9, with Mars joining Karma-
laabha lord (10th-11th lord) Saturn in the 5th and Jupiter posited in its own house in the 9th
casts its aspect on Rahu occupying the 3rd house of siblings then it is said that the native
is a female twin. There is an elder sister who would not survive. The native is the 3 rd
child. The other twin will die in the first month (after birth)10
Verse 22

9 It is very important to note here the birth dasa planet - SA

10 In ADB you would find only one chart matching the planet position criteria mentioned in the shloka, that is of Delany, Sadie
but its a B ratings from Roddens. The events do not match as given in the shloka. - SA
Mars And Rahu In The 5th.

Verse 23: The native will have a brother and a sister if Mars occupies the 5th house with
Rahu while the 5th lord Sun occupies the 3rd. When the native is running his 26th year, the
eldest sibling will face break-ups in the family and also suffer from diseases.
Verse 23

Death of Siblings.

Verse 24: If Mars as the signifactor of siblings becomes the lone occupant of the 5th house
with no planets aspecting it and the 5th lord goes to occupy the 6th along with Mercury, the
lord of the 3rd and Venus, it is said that all but the native and his 2 siblings among 12
siblings would perish11.
Verse 24

Troubles Till 22nd Year

11
Mars in the 5H would aspect the 8H of death and 12H of Exit. 3L of siblings is in the 6H of akala mrityu and is with Venus a
maraka for Aries Asc especially so since it is placed in the 6H of natural badhak with 6L Mercury - SA
Verse 25: The native will have 3 brothers and one sister if Mars in the 5th is aspected by
Moon, the lord of conveyances and the 3rd house receives aspect from Jupiter from the
9th. If birth occurs in the dasa of Mars, the 8th lord, the native will face troubles until his 22nd year.
Verse 25

(Note: If born in Mars dasa, the native will experience Rahu dasa in his teen years. Jupiter will
be in the second round and transiting the 7th house from lagna when the native crosses his 22nd
year. By then the Jupiter dasa is also likely to have started. Jupiter in trine to the lagna and
lagna lord renders Jupiter dasa beneficial. However the native cannot enjoy comforts at young
age owing to sukha-lord (4th lord) posited in the 11th and aspected by the 8th lord Mars. The
angle between a well placed Jupiter with the house of comforts and its lord Moon is not
auspicious thereby contributing to troubles until Jupiter dasa sets in.

Mars In The 6th house

Elder Sister

Verse 26: If Mars joins the 4th lord in the 6th and if the 3rd house is aspected by Jupiter
from the 11th, it is said that the native has one sister. But she will not live long.
Verse 26

(Note: The Viraya (Loss) lord Jupiter in the 11th which is 12th to the 12th and aspecting the 3rd
but in 8-6 axis to the signifactor of the 3rd is not good for the elder sister.)
Natives Brother

Verse 27: When Mars as signifactor of siblings joins Rahu in the 6th house and Venus,
the lord of the 2nd and the 7th occupies the house of siblings, it is said that a brother of the
native will exhibit hatred12 towards father and ancestors, attain eminence through his
knowledge, get separated from the family due to his wife and enjoy the wealth of others.
Verse 27

Balarishta for Native And Brother.

Verse 28: The native will be the second-born if Mars becomes the lone occupant of the
6th house and Mercury, the lord of the 3rd occupies the lagna along with Sun and Venus.
The native will die in the antar-dasa of Venus. The elder sibling will also die young.
Verse 28

12 Very important part of this shloka. This has to be decoded and combined with other things, a part of it is Take the house where

Venus is placed, if the karaka of that house is afflicted by house placement & also by hatred giving planet malefics like Rahu etc
and also 7th from Venus has low AV (need not be always low), then Venus becomes karaka to give bad effects towards the 7th
from it in accordance with the relative of the karaka of the house where Venus is placed.

On this we remember an oft repeated conversation with a dear Baroda based great predictor, he said always Venus will
give low AV points in the 7th from it, but in our humble view its not always true and we can be wrong. We have only tested the
previous mentioned method (1st para of this foot note) on 20 charts, someone needs to do more aggressive testing and if satisfied,
then come up with an article on this technique- SA
(Note: Another Balarishta combination. There is inauspicious exchange of houses by the first
and 6th
lords who also happen to own 8th and 3rd houses respectively. Venus, the maarak joined
by Sun (the 3rd from the 3rd ) in the lagna along with 3rd lord and aspected by the 8th lord from
the 6th makes this combination bad for both the native and his sibling.)

No Younger Siblings.

Verse 29: If Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 6th house and Venus, the 2nd and 7th
lord goes to occupy the 3rd along with Ketu, it is said that the native will have 3 elder
brothers and one elder sister. There will be no younger siblings13.
Verse 29

13 One thing to broadly (repeat broadly) remember is Ketu is Obstacle Karaka & Change Karaka too (apart from Saturn). It also

becomes a Stop Karaka, stuns the growth once in life time. That means say here Ketu is sitting in above chart in 3H, it will stop the
growth of more siblings (or something else). In BCP Progression method if Ketu is in a particular house and that years BCP
Progression comes to that house and also strong malefics in transit look to that house for that year then there is Major Road Block.

3rd Lord In Debility

Verse 30: If Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 6th and is aspected by the debilitated
3rd lord from the house of losses, it is said that the native is the only son. There will be a
sister after whom there will be no siblings.
Verse 30

(Note: Verse 10 also showed a combination in which the 3rd lord Mercury was in debility. Mars
was in the 2nd house along with the 2 preceptors in that combination. That resulted in many
siblings though one of them was predicted to have walking disability. The above verse also
shows Mercury in debility. It is in mutual aspect with Mars posited in the 6th which happens to
be owned by Mercury. In this combination, the 6th and the 8th lords aspect each other from 6th
and the 12th. )

Mars In The 7th House

Stammering Tongue

Verse 31: When Mars, the signifactor of siblings occupies the 7th house along with the 4th
lord Moon and the house of siblings does not receive the aspect of any planet, then it is said
that the native has 5 brothers and 2 sisters of whom 3 brothers will live long. The native
has stammering tongue. He will follow religious austerities but will make a difficult
living.
Verse 31
(Note: The 2nd house denotes speech. The 2nd to the 2nd is devoid of any aspect, so says the
verse. Mars is located in the 6th house from the house of speech and aspects the house of speech
and the 12th to it as well. This considerably afflicts the ability to speak. With no positive strength
accruing to the 2nd from the 2nd, that is the 3rd house, the aspect of Mars on the 2nd house of
speech has gone unchecked making the native develop a stammering tongue.)

Moon Aspecting The 3rd

Verse 32: When Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 7th house and Moon occupies the
9th aspecting the 3rd house, it is said that among the 7 siblings of the native, one brother
and one sister will survive.
Verse 32

Saturn Mars In Mutual Aspect

Verse 33: The native will not live long if the lonely Mars in the 7th is aspected by Saturn
from the 10th. But there will be after-borns to the native.
Verse 33

(Note: Malefics in Kendra to lagna afflicting the 2nd and 7th houses contributed to short life
span.)

Death Of Siblings.

Verse 34: When Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 7th and not aspected by any
planet and the 3rd lord occupies the 9th along with Venus, then it is said that of the 10
siblings of the native, 3 males and 2 females will survive. The younger sister will die in
the 7th year of the eldest sibling.
Verse 34

Comment From Yenbeeyes: There is a word used in this verse--Could you see the
reason behind this? Does it indicate the Autumnal equinoxial point which is the beginning of
month Thulam or Libra? Learned readers can contribute on this point. So I am giving the exact
Tamil lines here.

Comments from SA Translator:

Re: The Build-up of the sentence does not convey Thulaa maasam. If it conveys Thulaa maasam,
it must say something more like the sister died in Thula maasam.

Or it could also mean that the native is Thulaam born (Libra moon sign) But in that case Moon
would join Mars in the 7th. But the verse says that Mars is alone in Libra.

Or it could mean Thulaam as sun sign. In that case Sun will be joining Mars which is again not
possible as per this verse.

Or it could mean that the native is 7th child. thulaam being the 7th sign in the zodiac.

As there is no other clue to solve this thulam I did not touch.

Brother Given for Adoption

Verse 35: If Mars occupying the 7th house along with the 5th lord is aspected by the 4th
lord Moon from the lagna Kendra, it is said that there are 3 males including the native
and 1 female sibling. One among the brothers will be given for adoption to a maternal uncle14
and it would give rise to some problems. As a result, there will be some expenses and
benefits as well.
Verse 35

ascendant. This lord, namely Moon going to occupy the lagna in the 10 th from the house of

14Maternal Uncle is seen from 6H in traditional astrology, in the verse 6H or Mer, both are not mentioned. Yet some might also
see it as 5th (children) from Moon with Dhanveer (great charity) Sun with Mars karaka of 6H.- SA
mother shows some Karmic gain to her parental home. The 3rd from the 4th signifies the brother
of mother (maternal uncle). The 5th house of children for this house is 10th from Moon and is
aspected by Mars, the 5th lord from the house of mother which is joined with the 5 th lord from
lagna. All these interconnecting combinations indicate a sibling given for adoption to the
maternal uncle. )

Mars in the 8th house

Litigation Among Siblings.

Verse 36: If Mars becomes the only occupant of its own house in the 8th and the 3rd house
is occupied by Rahu, the native will have one sister among 8 siblings. The siblings will
be engaged in litigations. They will enjoy good houses and landed property but would
not have progeny.
Verse 36

(Note: The combination shows afflictions to the houses of wealth, father, gains and purva
punya pertaining to the lagna (native) and his siblings.)

3 Wives To The Father

Verse 37: If the 8th house is occupied by Mars along with Sun and Mercury and the 3rd
house is occupied by Jupiter in mutual aspect with Venus from the 9th house, it is said
that of the 10 children born of the 3 wives of the father of the native, 4 males and 2
females will survive. There will be no unity among them.
Verse 37
Balarishta For Sibling.

Verse 38: If the 8th house is occupied by Mars along with the Bhagya-viraya (9th and
12th)lord Jupiter and the 3rd house is occupied by Rahu, it is said that one of the 2 siblings of
the native will die young15.

Mars In The 9th House
Jupiter Mars conjunction

Verse 41: If the 9th house is occupied by Mars along with Bhagya-Viraya lord Jupiter and
the 11th house is occupied by the 3rd lord along with Venus and Ketu, it is said that the
native will have 2 brothers. The native is the youngest. He will beget daughters and will
be worshipful of his father.
Verse 41

(Note: 3rd from the 3rd house is occupied by Rahu and 3rd from Mars, the signifactor of siblings
is occupied by Ketu showing absence of younger siblings. The conjunction of lagna lord and the
9th lord in the 9th shows the rapport between the father and the native.)
Native Found Missing.

Verse 42: When Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 9th house and is not aspected by
any planet and the debilitated 3rd lord joins Rahu in the 12th house of losses, it is said that
the native will have 6 siblings and a younger sister. Of them 2 brothers and 4 sisters will
survive. The native will be found missing in his 14th year.
Verse 42

(Note: Rahu in the 12th aspected by the 8th lord Mars from 9th house shows a misfortune that
keeps the native away from home. In addition, the 12th from the lagna lord is aspected by Ketu.)

Only One Sister.

Verse 43: If the 9th house is occupied by Mars along with Jupiter and the 10th house is
occupied by the 3rd lord which is not being aspected by any planet, then it is said that the
native will have one sister. The father of the native will be Sagittarius born.
Verse 43
Mars and Rahu in the 9th

Verse 44: If the 9th house is occupied by Mars along with Rahu, the enemy of Sun and
the 11th house is occupied by a lonely 3rd lord, it is said that the native will have 2 brothers
and 2 sisters. The eldest brother will be Capricorn born and will be fortunate and
educated.
Verse 44

Expertise in Vidya.

Verse 45: If the 9th house is occupied by Mars along with the 5th and 3rd lords namely Sun
and Mercury and the 3rd house is occupied by Jupiter, it is said that the native will have 3
sisters. He will be skilled or showing dexterity in a branch of or branches of learning.
Verse 45
(Note: The 5th, 7th and 9th lords from the 9th house and the lagna lord in conjunction in the 9th
house being aspected by Jupiter who also happens to be the 9th lord shows expertise in
branches of knowledge. In this context the prediction of expertise in Telugu language mentioned
in verse 14 is worth recalling.

Verse 14 describes Mars as a lone occupant of the 3rd house and not aspected by any planet.
Mercury is the lord of the house occupied by Mars. From that sign, Mars casts its direct aspect
on the 9th owned by Jupiter and its 4th aspect on Virgo owned by Mercury. Both Mercury and
Jupiter signify knowledge. Jupiter as signifactor of words / tongue is related to language studies
when associated with Mercury and Mars. Mars is methodical and enhances ability in Math. But
when it gets associated with Jupiter and Mercury, it enhances the perception of grammar which
also requires a methodical application. Hence the association of Mars, Jupiter, Mercury with
Sagittarius in an auspicious bhava (excluding 6th, 8th and 12th bhavas) could give rise to
expertise in language studies.

Yet another combination having relevance in this context is explained in verse 31. It says that
Mars and Moon situated in the 7th house (Libra) with the 3rd house of Gemini not getting any
aspect indicate among other things a stammering tongue for the native. The 2 nd house and the
2nd to the 2nd house are under focus in that verse. This shows that either the houses or the
signifactors are capable of producing results.)

Mars In The 10th House

Eminence Through Education.

Verse 46: If the exalted Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 10th house and the lagna
Kendra is occupied by the 3rd lord and Ketu, it is said that native will have 4 brothers and
2 sisters. The native and his brothers will attain greatness through education.
Verse 46
(Note: The exalted lagna lord in Karmasthan is in Kendra to Mercury, the signifactor of
knowledge posited in the lagna. The exalted Mars also proves beneficial for the house of
education by its direct aspect.)

Exalted Mars and Debilitated Mercury.

Verse 47: When the exalted Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 10th house being
aspected by the Bhagya Viraya lord Jupiter from the 2nd house and the house of losses is
occupied by the 3rd lord along with Rahu, any number of younger siblings born after the
native will not survive.
Verse 47

Mars Saturn conjunction

Verse 48: If the exalted Mars joins Saturn in his own house, it is said that the native will
be the lone person to be given for adoption in the family of the grandfather. There will
be no improvement due to a sinful job. He will suffer from phlegmatic complaints and
will not live long.
Verse 48

(Note: This is a very important combination showing the fight among two enemies situated in a
house that make them powerful in their own way. But in the final analysis the owner of the
house namely Saturn scores a win. The verse shows multifaceted troubles for the native as Mars
happens to be the lagna lord also.)

Native Given For Adoption.

Verse 49: If the 10th house is occupied by the exalted Mars along with the Sukha lord
Moon and the 3rd house is occupied by the 3rd lord, Sun and Rahu, then it is said that of
the 4 siblings, there are 2 males including the native. The native will be given for adoption in
the 9th year.
Verse 49
(Note: Rahu is likely to transit the sign of Saturn which is occupied by natal Mars in the 9 th
year of the native.)

The lonely And Unaspected Mars In Exaltation.

Verse 50: When the exalted Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 10th house without
receiving any aspect and the 3rd lord from the 3rd goes to occupy the 6th along with
Karma-Laabha lord Saturn, it is said that the elder brother of the native will die. A sister
will be born 5 years after the native.
Verse 50

Mars In The 11th House.

A Fortunate Combination.

Verse 51: If the 11th house is occupied by Mars along with Ketu and the 2nd house is
occupied by the 3rd lord Mercury and the 5th lord Sun, the native will be highly fortunate.
Verse 51
(Note: The 11th house is an auspicious place for Mars. Mars in auspicious connections and
aspects in that house increases the fortunes of the native. One such combination is described
in this verse. The 1st and 5th lords in Kendra in houses related to wealth, home and profits with
Mars as the lagna lord aspecting the lord of the 2 nd to the 2nd (Mercury) and the 5th besides
aspecting the 5th house gives rise to a fortunate combination.)

Fortunes From The Sibling.

Verse 52: When Mars occupies the 11th house along with Ketu and the 3rd lord in the 3rd
house is aspected by the Bhagya- Viraya lord Jupiter from his own house in the 9th, then
it is said that of the 4 siblings of the native, 2 will be males. There will be comforts,
acquisition of wealth and happiness on account of the youngest sibling.
Verse 52

(Note: Three planets in Kendra and kona with reference to the house of siblings occupied by
the lord of that house, with Mars positioned in the 11 th aspecting the 2nd and 5th houses make a
fortunate combination. The 9th lord is in the 9th aspected by the lord of house of siblings from
the 3rd and Jupiter aspecting the lagna and the 5th ensure that the native gains from the sibling.
Note the combined aspect of Mars and Jupiter to the 5th house of Purva punya.)

Fortunes Through Maternal Uncle.

Verse 53: When Mars occupies the 11th house along with the 5th lord Sun and Saturn
becomes the lone occupant of the 3rd house, it is said that the native will have 3 brothers
and one sister. Among the siblings, one brother will live long. The siblings will gain
wealth through the maternal uncle.
Verse 53

(Note: The 5th house for the native becomes the 12th house for the maternal uncle (6th house).
The 12th and 8th lords from the house of maternal uncle, namely Sun and Mars join the 6 th
house from the house of maternal uncle causing Vipareetha Raja yoga for the maternal uncle.
This occurs in the 11th house for the native and the 9th house for the house of siblings of the
native.

The 2nd from the 9th house for maternal uncle will be the beneficiaries to whom his wealth is
bequeathed. This falls in the 3rd house of siblings of the native. It is occupied by Saturn who
owns the 6th from maternal uncle. The attrition of uncles wealth by this ownership is indicated.
That wealth got transferred to the native and his siblings as both lagna lord Mars occupying 11 th
and the 11th lord occupying the house of siblings are casting their aspect on the 5th house of the
native.

Fortunate Combination For a Devotee of Shiva.

Verse 54: When Mars occupies the 11th house along with Ketu and the 4th and 5th lords
namely Moon and the Sun occupy the 3rd house, the native will have 2 brothers. The
native will be a fortunate person and receive gifts from Kings. He will gain conveyances,
lands and wealth. He will take care of his relatives and feed others. He will be a
worshipper of Lord Shiva.
Verse 54

(Note: Lagna lord in Kendra to Sun and Moon shown in this chart is comparable to a fortunate
yoga called Sree-Kanda Yoga for a devotee of Shiva. When the lagna lord, Sun and the Moon are
situated in Kendra or kona to each other which happen to be their exalted or friendly houses,
this yoga arises. The fortunes mentioned in the above verse are attributed to that combination
and in addition, the combination ensures attainment of the Abode of Shiva at the end of the
birth by ending the cycle of rebirth. What is missing in the above verse is that the concerned
planets are not in their exalted and friendly houses. However if Mars occupies the 11 th for the
Aries ascendant along with Mokshakaraka Ketu in trine to Sun and the Moon, most of the
effects of Sree-kanda yoga are manifested.)

Wasting Away Of Fortunes.

Verse 55: When the 11th house is occupied by Mars along with the lord of the 2nd and 7th,
Venus and the 5th lord Sun and the 10th house is occupied by the 3rd lord along with
Moon, it is said that the father of the native will get a son and a daughter from his
another wife. The native will have 2 brothers and a sister born as his siblings. The
siblings will roam about by wasting the wealth.
Verse 55
(Note: The 2nd lord from the house of siblings joins the lord of the house of siblings in the 8th
from the house of siblings. This becomes the 12th house from the lagna lord in the 11th who joins
the 2nd, 5th and the 7th lord. The accruals are lost by the siblings. )

Mars In The 12th House.

Earnings From Writing.

Verse 56: When Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 12th house being aspected by the
Karma-Laabha (10th-11th) lord Saturn from the 6th and the 2nd and 7th lord Venus goes to
occupy the house of siblings, the native will have 8 brothers and 5 sisters. Of them 4
brothers will have long life. The native will have a sickly constitution. He will make a living
through writing.17
Verse 56

17The verse says income from writing, which can be broadly taken as hands as its the 3H of writing. Could not find any chart
matching the said combination, but found 2 charts with Aries Asc, Mars in 12H and Saturn in 6H, one is of palmist (income from
hands) where Venus aspects the 3H from 9H & other a playwright where Venus aspects the 3H from 9H.

1) ADB gives Palmist 5649: 15th Feb 1923, 10: 00 am, Fresno, CA

2) Behan, Brendan, 9th Feb 1923, 10:00 am Dublin, Ireland. Irish nationalist playwright noted for the black humor of his work.
His works included "The Quare Fellow" in 1956, "The Hostage" in 1958 and "Borstal Boy" in 1958. He died from liver damage
(note verse says sickly constitution) caused by alcohol on 3/20/1964.
(Note: The lagna lord in the 12th aspected by Saturn, the lord of the 6th from the 6th from the
house of diseases gives a sickly constitution. The combined aspect of the Lagna lord Mars and
the 10th lord Saturn on the 3rd house occupied by Venus shows writing skills and composition
and a livelihood through writing.)

Native Given For adoption.

Verse 57: When Mars occupies the 12th along with the 5th lord Sun and the 3rd house is
aspected by karma-Laabha lord Saturn from the house of fortunes in the 9th, it is said that
there will be 2 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. The native will be given for
adoption at his young age to his fathers side.
Verse 57

(Note: The aspect received by the 6th house by the occupant of the 9th house of father, by the
signifactor of father and the lagna lord from the 12 th holds the key to the native being given for
adoption to the fathers side.)

Sun, Moon and Mars in Opposition

Verse 58: If the 12th house is occupied by the significator of siblings, Mars along with the
lord of house of children, Sun and is being aspected by the lord of comforts, Moon from
the 6th and the 3rd house is aspected by Saturn from the 9th, it is said that the native will
have 2 brothers. The eldest brother will have 3 wives and make a living through Vidya.
Verse 58

(Note: This verse is comparable with verse 54 in which Sun and Moon in Kendra to Mars in
auspicious houses predicted fortunes for the native besides making him an ardent devotee of
Lord Shiva. In the above verse the Kendra position happens in inauspicious houses. That makes
a lot of difference to the native but becomes fortunate for the sibling as such a combination
occurs in favorable kendras to the 3rd house of siblings. The 11th lord Saturn aspecting the 3rd
and the 4th from the house of siblings indicates that the eldest sibling gained from this
combination.)

Fortunate Combination.

Verse 59: If Mars becomes the lone occupant of the 12th and receives the straight aspect of
the Karma-Laabha (10th-11th) lord Saturn from the 6th while Rahu goes to occupy the
house of siblings, it is said that the native will live happily owning land and house.
Verse 59
(Note: Mars as 8th lord in 12th gives rise to Vipareetha raja yoga. Karma- Laabha lord aspecting
the 5th from the 4th shows fortunes related houses.)

Verse 60: When Mars occupies the 12th along with Ketu and the 3rd lord occupies the
lagna-kendra along with Sun and Venus, it is said that the native will have a younger
brother and a younger sister among 3 siblings until his 18th year. In the second half of the
dasa of the 8th lord Mars, the native will lose land and wealth. He will shift to a foreign
country.
