EXT. T11 SQUARE - DAY D1

JARIEL TAN, 18, stick-thin, bespectacled, and KIERAN LEE,
18, handsome and athletic. They enter the area, phones in
hand.
KIERAN
(reads phone)
'Take a photograph of an
interesting person. Make up a
character based on them' But I'm
the most interesting person I know!
JARIEL
Wow, your life must be very boring
then.
KIERAN
Shut up lah. EH look, hot chicks!
JARIEL
You seriously going to...
Kieran proceeds to walk towards the group of girls. Jariel
walks into T11 on his own and looks around. AMALIA HALIM,
18, cute and petite, is picking up trash from the ground. He
follows her back to her table where a trash sculpture sat.
JARIEL
Wow, she looks interesting.
Jariel tries to take a sneaky picture of her, but the flash
suddenly goes off. Jariel starts to panic as Amalia's
attention got caught.
AMALIA
Hey!
Amalia beckons him to the table. He hesitates before going
over.
AMALIA
No one's ever taken a picture of me
before. What are you doing?
JARIEL
I'm working for TIME magazine,
you're gonna be on next month's
cover.
AMALIA
(goes back to making
sculpture)
(MORE)

AMALIA (CONT'D)
Cool, now what's the real reason?
JARIEL
First, tell me what YOU'RE doing.
AMALIA
Oh it's my message against
consumerism in our corrupt society.
My lecturers are weird.
JARIEL
Right, okay.
AMALIA
(points to fork on top of
trash tower)
That's me! Now how about you? What
were you doing?
JARIEL
It's for this story trail
assignment. We'll get prompts
throughout the day and we have to
take pictures about it.
AMALIA
(snatches his phone)
Cool! Let me see.
Amalia reads the prompts and gets excited.
AMALIA
Is this a new prompt? 'Take a
picture of an old place with a new
perspective'. OH MY GOD I know a
place!
JARIEL
That's nice. Bye now.
AMALIA
I wanna help!
JARIEL
Uh... You have that... tower
thing...
AMALIA
Let's go!
EXT. ROOFTOP - DAY D1

Amalia and Jariel come up from the staircase. Amalia is

dragging a really hesitant Jariel.
AMALIA
Tadaa! Nice view huh? You can use
this for your prompt!
JARIEL
Is this legal?
AMALIA
WOOOOO YEAH!
JARIEL
WOW did you skip on medication or
something?
AMALIA
Studies have shown that screaming
on rooftops improves health.
JARIEL
Who said that? Abraham Lincoln?
AMALIA
Yes.
JARIEL
He was a president, not a
scientist.
AMALIA
WHATEVER! Just try it. SCREAM!
JARIEL
No, lets just take the pic and go.
Amalia creeps onto the edge and dangle Jariel's phone.
JARIEL
ARE YOU CRAZY? COME BACK!
AMALIA
Scream 'I'M THE KING OF THE WORLD!'
JARIEL
(yells)
NO! ALRIGHT, NO! YOU'VE DONE ENOUGH
FOR TODAY. YOU'RE CRAZY. JUST GIVE
ME BACK MY PHONE!
Amalia looks shocked. She walks towards him and returns his
phone.

AMALIA
Geez, I'm just kidding... sorry.
Amalia sulks and shuffles away.
JARIEL
Wait...
Now alone on the rooftop, Jariel decides to finish his
interesting person prompt. He types that the Amalia
character was being treated badly by someone, but by the
time they realised it, it was too late to say sorry.
EXT. T11 SQUARE - DAY D1
Jariel walks back to T11 in search for Amalia and sees her
with her tower almost done. He walks up to the sculpture and
places a spoon next to her fork.
JARIEL
(whispers)
I'm the king of the world.
Amalia looks at Jariel. She gives a surprised smile, then
brings her fork closer to the spoon.
AMALIA
They're holding hands now!
They laugh. Amalia breaks eye contact first and gestures
that the base of her tower needs more trash. They start
searching the ground together
JARIEL
Hey, I just realised! We still
don't know each other's names.
AMALIA
Oh yeah! I'm Amalia.
JARIEL
(smiles)
Jariel.
Kieran walks down T11 with two hot girls on either side of
him. He sees Jariel picking up trash off the floor, is
surprised, then spins on his heel and walks away again.
