To Whom It May Concern:

Daniel Main is an outstanding person who pursues success with an exceptional motivation and a
tremendous work ethic. He is someone I have known his entire life. I have personally observed
Daniel give his time and energy to people in need without asking for anything in return. He is
very trustworthy and possesses a strong moral character. He participates in many extra-curricular
activities including sports and charity events. He is a very mature young man and will work hard
to be successful at the next level.

Daniel is well liked by his peers, teachers and other adults he interacts with. He is active in his
church and is a faithful attender of the services throughout the week. He is very excited and
motivated to pursue a career related to the outdoors. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to hunt
and fish.

Until recently, I was Daniels Sunday school teacher and youth group leader. He has always been
a very respectful and positive person.

I have complete confidence that Daniel will be successful in his future endeavors.

I wholeheartedly recommend Daniel for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Todd Cheney

To whom it may concern:

Mr. Daniel Main has asked me to write a letter of reference for him. I understand that he
is applying to Paul Smiths and hoping to have his field of study be Natural Resource
Conservation and Management.

I have known Daniel since his childhood when his age would have been described in the
single digits. His family is a friend of my familys and our families are coworkers for a
youth camp co-sponsored by our churches. As a result, I have seen Daniel as a
houseguest, a camper (when I have been on staff for the youth camp) and as a fellow
laborer when our camp has had work days in the spring and fall to set up or tear down the
camp, respectively. In terms of his intended study concentration, he is perfectly cut out
for that. He loves to be out in the woods in the wilderness, already having done a lot of
hunting and fishing as well as hiking, canoeing, and even tapping maple trees for syrup.
He is very comfortable in that element. I find his personality to be very pleasant and he
has a great work ethic. He has a good sense of humor and does not take himself too
seriously. I cannot speak directly about his academic capacity, but in general sense he is a
sharp cookie and I would anticipate that he would have no problem there.

In summary, I am pleased to recommend Daniel Main to your program without

reservation. I think he will be a great addition, a pleasure to get to know, and with his
tendency to be a team player, I think he will be an asset to the student body in general.

Sincerely,

Russell E. Rider, MD

To Whom It May Concern,
As a teacher and the principal of Faith Fellowship Christian School, I
have had the unique advantage of watching Daniel Main develop and mature
not only academically but also into young adulthood. Daniel has been a
student of mine since ninth grade. It is my pleasure to recommend Daniel Main
for admission to Paul Smiths College. His desire to pursue a degree in Natural
Resources Conservation and Management is very appropriate for Daniel. His
love for nature and his active outdoor life style make him a perfect candidate for
your program. Daniel is active in hunting, fishing, hiking, kayaking and
canoeing.
In addition to his regular high school schedule, he has played and
started for the schools basketball and softball teams. His biggest asset is his
willingness to help out around the school. Daniel is always ready to help
whenever and wherever there is a need.
Furthermore, Daniel has excellent peer relations and has a heart to serve
people. His eagerness to help others and his striving for excellence in his
chosen field, will be a great asset to him as he pursues his future profession.

Sincerely,

Theodore F. Curinga II
