About IIM Sirmaur
The Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur is
fifteenth in the prestigious IIM family of
management schools to be established in India. The

past has successfully mentored two other IIM's IIM
Rohtak and IIM Kashipur
Situated in a city famous for its abundant natural
beauty, the river Yamuna passes through the town. The
temporary campus of IIM Sirmaur is at Himachal
Institute of Technology, Near Dental College, Rampur
Ghat Road, Paonta Sahib, District Sirmaur,
H.P - 173025. Paonta Sahib is an industrial town in
the south of Sirmaur district.

Facilities
Hostel
The students of IIM Sirmaur are provided with twin sharing rooms with
modern amenities. Hostel building is very close to the academic block. The
rooms are properly ventilated and well lit. Each student is provided with a
separate bed, mattress, almirah, and a bookrack. Every room has a separate
washroom equipped with modern facilities. Housekeeping service maintains
cleanliness in the rooms and an active staff takes care of mundane issues if
at all they arise. A student run mess is located in the same compound and
serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines. It also serves as the
common room for the students and the TV installed there caters to the
recreational needs of students. High speed Wi-Fi has been installed which
is accessible from anywhere within the campus.
Library
IIM Sirmaur has an in-house library well equipped with both print and
electronic resources. The library has around 650 books and a subscription
of 22 periodicals and 5 newspapers in hard copies. In addition, it provides
access to over 30,000 e-books titles, 4000 e-newspapers and 500 e-
Magazines. Library is accessible 24 7 and several online databases such
as ACE-KP, ACE-MF, ACE-Equity, ABI, Ebrary and Pressreader.
Sports
Sports facilities at IIM Sirmaur are one of the best among the new IIMs. The
campus has excellent facilities for sports - football field, volleyball court,
lawn tennis court, badminton court and table tennis. Recent installation of
a high mast in the field enables students to access sports facilities even in
the night. For fitness enthusiasts the institute provides an in-campus gym.
Computer Centre
The campus has a state of the art Wi-Fi facility which is accessible
throughout the campus. The computer lab is equipped with latest
configuration machines and provides access to latest software and
databases. IIM Sirmaur will soon become a part of the National Knowledge
Network (NKN) a pan-India network implemented by the National
Informatics Centre (NIC). After becoming part of the NKN, IIM Sirmaur will
enjoy a bandwidth of 1 Gbps.

foster the extension of the ambit of their experiences as well as

Pre-Placement Talks

Student's The Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) helps companies and students interact with each other. The
representatives of companies share the profile of their company, key aspects of business,
work environment and opportunities available to the students. The presentation is followed by

Activities a Q&A session, where students interact with company officials to get a better understanding
of the company and potential roles. A typical PPT session is scheduled for 90 minutes.

process. On the basis of student applications, companies are required to send shortlists to
the Placement office prior to their final placement interviews.

December 2016 to February 2017. Companies can interview the students they have
shortlisted, on the date agreed upon by the Placement office and the company. The final

Offers and Acceptance
The company can make an offer to the student after the final interview. For an offer to be
valid, it should include details of role, location, remuneration, and other relevant terms and
conditions required by the candidate to make a decision. The offer is communicated by the
company to the Placement office, which in turn communicates it to the selected student. The
acceptance of an offer is governed by placement rules of the PGP which are framed at the
beginning of the academic year.
