reiterate what the recommender already knows about you or may help them discover something previously

1. Explain the qualities that you feel you possess which might easily go unnoticed by others.
One quality that I possess that may go unnoticed is my creativity. Often times I do not assume an
overly vocal role so my creative nature may not be immediately realized.
2. Complete the following statement as clearly and directly as you can: I am especially proud of the
following achievement.
I am especially proud of playing both varsity golf and varsity baseball in my time at Athens.
3. Mention any factors that have come up during your high school career which you feel have put you at
a disadvantage.
There has been an annual trend of me getting sick and missing numerous days of school.
4. Do you feel you present grades are a fair representation of your academic ability? If not, discuss.
No, my present grades are not representative of my academic ability. Throughout high school, my
intelligence has been overshadowed by a lack of motivation with homework.
5. What goals have you set for yourself and what are you presently doing to achieve them?
My current goals are to come out of high school prepared to make decisions that decide my future.
6. What activities have you pursued and to what extend? Mention any offices you have held and awards
won. Tell what you gained from this experience.
I have been a state finalist for DECA club twice as well as participating in Varsity golf and Varsity
baseball. These experiences have taught me how important a balance between cooperation and self-
reliance is.
7. In what community activities have you participated?
I volunteer alongside my family at Gleaners Food Bank multiple times a year.
8. Explain your personal contribution to the high school community.
I participate heavily in school sporting events as well as charity opportunities as well as representing
the high school in Varsity golf and baseball.
9. What are your hobbies?
 My hobbies include producing music as well as being a DJ with my brother and the University of
Michigan.
10. Describe any independent study or special programs/projects in which you have engaged (science,
drama, music serious extra work in a subject.)
In marketing class I have participated in DECA club as well as contributing in a promotional campaign
for the school store.
11. Describe any work experience you have had - paid or unpaid. Describe your responsibilities, dates of
employment, average hours per week, etc.
I landscape for my neighbors earning $25 per lawn. Also, I have worked part time at a local golf course
working roughly 10 hours per week earning $9 per hour.
12. Describe your summer experiences and what you gained from them:
a. After freshman year: I spent a lot of time at football training as well as playing on a college
showcase team for baseball. This experience introduced me to a higher level of baseball and
humbled me.
b. After sophomore year: I traveled across the country playing for a college showcase baseball
team. This experience not only made me a better baseball player but it also gave me the
opportunity to see new places.
c. After junior year: I will be working more than in the past and I was invited to a weeklong
Callaway golf camp.

14. Where will you apply/have you applied to college?
Oakland University, Grand Valley State, and Wayne State.
15. What is your intended major?
Managerial Economics/Marketing Management
16. How did you become interested in this major?
My personality and characteristics are geared for a business environment.
17. What are your intended career plans?
While I am not certain, I would like to have a career related to financial consulting or marketing
management.
