Fall 2017
Early Childhood/Special Education

I am grateful for the opportunity to interview with your school, and get to know you
better. My time spent at Brigham Young University-Idaho has been dedicated to
preparing for working with children in the classroom, and helping them achieve their
potential. Throughout my education at BYU-Idaho, I have learned to create educational
objectives, plan effective lessons with high student involvement, assess with purpose,
and establish respect and rapport within a classroom environment. I am prepared to
continue to learn and grow as an educator within your school.

The following are some of my qualifications and accomplishments;

I currently work as a full-time temporary employee as a government aid
supervisor at the BYU-Idaho Financial Aid Office where I manage the
government aid of hundreds of students each semester who withdraw from the
university.
I taught in the R Child Labs at BYU-Idaho where I planned developmentally
appropriate lessons, kept data on toddlers and preschoolers, and collaborated
with peers to create a classroom environment that promoted safety, and effective
learning.
I served as a crew president in Cedar Badge, a youth leadership program
affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America for three years. During this time, I
planned a weeks worth of outdoor leadership activities for a group of about thirty
youth, along with lessons, a budget, menu, and requiring appropriate fish and
game permits.
I worked as an infant teacher for three years at Dianes Early Care and Education
where I upheld high standards of care for children, including weekly
documentation of developmental progress.

My love for education and teaching young children, combined with my willingness to
work hard, give my best, and collaborate with others make me a positive addition to any
teacher team. I feel that with my upbeat personality and the classroom management
strategies I have developed, I am ready to guide and motivate classroom achievement.

Attached is my resume for your review. I look forward to the chance to meet with you,
and benefit from your knowledge and experience.

Sincerely,
Rae Miller
