I am writing to you as a reference for Emalee Martin. I am the art teacher at

Southridge Elementary, and Emalee worked with me during the fall for seven weeks
of her student teaching.

While teaching with me at Southridge Elementary, Emalee exhibited numerous

skills and abilities that will lead her to a successful teaching career. She created
some of the best lessons that I have ever had from a student teacher. Her lessons
were creative and engaging, while also drawing from other subjects to enhance
understanding of subjects from outside of the art room. Emalee was tireless in her
patience, especially with the younger classes that need help more often. She was
able to engage with several of the students, especially some of our more challenging
students, on a personal level to create relationships with them. This was an
impressive feat, considering that she was only here for seven weeks.

I would recommend Emalee for any art teaching position. She has the creativity,
energy, and patience to be a successful teacher at any level. It has been five months
since she has taught at my school, and my students still occasionally ask about her
and hope that she can work as a substitute teacher here so that they can see her
again.
