The Railway Children
In the novel 'The Railway Children', a character I admire is Roberta, also known as Bobbie who is 12 years
old and the oldest among her siblings. She protects her siblings from knowing that their father has been
wrongly imprisoned. She understands and appreciates her mothers position in getting the family to adapt
to a totally different lifestyle from the one they had in the city. She admires her mothers ability to handle
the difficult situation theyre in and supports her as best as she can. Bobbie also shows her bravery when
she plays an important role in preventing a train from crashing into a landslide. She also helps the injured
Jim in the railway tunnel.

The Railway Children

In the novel The Railway Children, one of the important events that changes the life of the main
characters is the disappearance of Bobbies father at the beginning of the story. Due to this, the family
subsequently leaves London to move to the countryside. At the countryside, they experience new things.
Life in the countryside is very different from the city. Their life is no longer easy compared to their life in
the city.
