    Mr.
    As requested, this letter is a brief report on the progress in PhD studies made by Kalim
    Ul-Haq Tariq. During the past half year he has read up on mathematical modelling in
    biological and medical applications and in basic dynamical systems as a preparation for a
    research project in that area. Corresponding exams will be taken at the end of this term.
    Judging from Kalims reports on what he learnt, Kalim has made satisfactory progress
    (after the exam I can provide more details if desired).
