The researcher occupies the post of General Manager of this resort and surrounded by
181 team members.

The researcher's opinion is that the HR strategies and practices that have put in place are
meeting the team members expectations, be it the transport service, the néW look and new
‘menu in staff restaurant or staff accommodation. The hotel does meet monthly budgeted |
revenues and average guests” satisfaction is 80%. This Ts an mndication That employees are
happy and delivering a service up to the satisfaction of the guests at the hotel.
However, from recent verbal and informal feedback from the team members, it seems |
‘that there are some employees who might not be happy with the current strategies as they
have highly criticized the accommodation, the night transportation, their menu and their
leisure.
‘The above feedback has motivated the researcher to undertake a thorough research to
investigate how the current HR strategies in place at the hotel are affecting the level of
the team members’ commitment at work as well as their efficiency so as to determine the
strengths and the weaknesses with a view to provide better satisfaction to the team
members and in so doing they may feel more committed to their work thus creating a
high morale, improve their productivity which in the long term can generate more
income, improve guests satisfaction from 80% to a target of average 90%, |

To identify the current HR strategies practices at the hotel;
‘To determine employee’s perception of the current HR strategies practices; |
‘To explore possible areas of improvement in the HR strategies practices; and |
To recommend strategies to cither strengthen or improve the employee
commitment and efficiency. |
